pickThis is a low pick for me. I love Dr. Siri and the gang, and this series is comfort reading for me. This particular book, however, had way too many characters—especially monks—to keep track of, and the plot went bonkers toward the end. But I still enjoy the setting of post-Vietnam War, late ‘70s Laos.
CSeydel I just read this one also! I was so dissatisfied with the ending - what the heck happened?? - until I realized that the next book (Rat Catchers Olympics) picks up right where this one leaves off. So I think (hope!) it may answer some questions remaining. It‘s unusual for him, usually these books stand alone pretty well. 1d
AlaMich @CSeydel It felt to me like he‘d spun out so many storylines and characters (So. Many. Characters!) throughout the book that by the time he reached the end, he didn‘t know what to do with it all. Definitely not my favorite 23h
