C.S. Lewis wrote this after the death of his beloved wife. Their time together was short, but it was all the more poignant because their connection was so intense. He was left wishing for all the years they might have had together. He is so honest about his pain making him question his faith.
“No one ever told me that grief felt so like fear.”
“Her absence is like the sky, spread over everything.”

“Many who are working among the suffering…thought they were going as the benefactors but they invariably found themselves being helped and liberated themselves.”
(Just one of the insights from this book that resonates with me. This little book is one of my favorites as well as the book of Job in the Bible is my favorite.)

Another school read that I am enjoying

Found this interesting. Some of C.S. Lewis's arguments could be difficult to follow. While I might not agree with every point, I still found the book thought-provoking.

This book is gutting and yet full of hope. The awful story of Levi Lusko‘s daughter dying just before Christmas is just so heartbreaking. Seeing how her family coped, what they chose to do, is incredible - I don‘t know that I could do it. A very inspiring story for any of us who have experienced the worst news ever. Great on audio ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I've been working my way through this. Besides the "Narnia" series, it's the first C.S. Lewis book I've read.

One of the most heartfelt books I‘ve read from Craig Groeschel. No glib answers here, I felt I could actually pass this book on to people who are really hurting. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
