i really liked this book, which is a shame because my copy of it is in wisconsin and i will probably never get it back (so if you want to send me a new copy be my guest). fitzpatrick just knows how to write these characters
I barely liked this book. I felt like the writing was a little disjointed and some sentences didn't make sense. Some scenes started out of nowhere or in the middle and I'd have to reread it multiple times to see if I read it right but it would still leave me confused.
Tim and Alice's love connection was lacking and they barely talked to one another.
I did like the other characters and it was nice to get them again in this sequel.
⭐️⭐️⭐️
"I don't think Stony Bay's finest brother with the corn maze at Richardson's Farm"
This sentence makes no damn sense to me! And it isn't the first one I've read in this book.
Am I the only one who sees a problem with the sentence?
The husband and I decided to skip out of work early so we could attend the opening day of Oregon's Brewer's Festival.

I loved getting to know Tim and Alice better since they were both very intriguing in My Life Next Door. This book dealt with a lot of heavy issues (some better than others... What the heck was up with Brad? Why was there no closure there?) so it felt different from its predecessor and wasn't a rehash of it. I also felt like it was left kind of open ended for a potential third book? Fingers crossed- I love reading about the Garrett family!
I've been making pretty quote graphics for work for the past week or so, and I like it so much I thought I'd try make some for myself (plus it's good practice)!
I loved this scene, I thought it was funny and ultimately ended up being really sweet.
Okay, but real talk: why can't Jake and his partner adopt Cal? It would be perfect- Tim would be able to see him on a fairly regular basis but Cal would grow up with two parents who would actually want him (not that Tim and Hester aren't doing their best, but since they ARE looking into putting Cal up for adoption...).
