If it‘s good enough for Edmund, it‘s good enough for me! #turkishdelight 😋

Bookwomble With a mug of hot chocolate 😋 6y
RavenLovelyReads @Bookwomble ooooh! Good idea!!! 6y
Mandigolightly I loooooove Turkish Delight 6y
ravenlee I prefer the lemon to the rose flavor. My husband flew on TurkishAir once and was amazed at the Turkish Delight varieties offered by the flight attendants. 6y
RavenLovelyReads @ravenlee A friend of mine has pictures she took at a market in Istanbul- the variety was amazing! I prefer the lemon, but my son really wanted to try these- not bad :) 6y

Anybody else watch this miniseries on PBS when they were kids? My brother and I rewatched this to the point where the dialogue was imprinted on our DNA. We still quote it in casual conversation.

My love for Tilda Swinton knows no bounds, but this version of the White Witch is the most #evilwoman I know. #turkishdelight #alwayswinterneverChristmas #RockinMay

IamIamIam Omigosh, I LOVED this version!!!!! 8y
saresmoore Oh, heck yes! My brother and I checked out the massive boxed set of VHS tapes from the library probably 20 times. 8y
Kimberlone My cousins had this on VHS and we would watch it every time we went to their house. I still remember how the first tape ended with the wolf commander of the secret police reading the letter about Mr. Tumnus being taken by the White Witch. Rewatched it a few years ago when my sister @Saknicole got it on DVD...was sad to see how crude the creature animations are in the final battle scene! The Aslan shaving scene still makes me weepy though! 8y

pilardib I tried to watch it but it was so creepy! The scene where Lucy first enters Narnia is just so dark and creepy haha 8y
Foragingfantasy Yes!!!!! My brothers and I watched and watched, I have them on DVD now and my kids watch them too. I still say "peace beaver" to my mom when she is spazzing. 8y
Saknicole @Kimberlone the bad animation hasn't stopped me from numerous rewatches. Best quote ever "never shut yourself in a wardrobe stupid" 8y
Saknicole @Foragingfantasy "peace beaver" ? 8y
TobeyTheScavengerMonk @Kimberlone "Long live the Queen! Raaaaar!" 8y
drokka The only one I've ever seen was a BBC production from the 60s or 70s. 8y
Shvonne I remember watching The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe in school in the 90's but I'm not sure which version it was. 8y
TobeyTheScavengerMonk @drokka @Shvonne The BBC produced the version I'm talking about in '88 so it might be what you're thinking of. 8y
drokka I don't think so. I would have been to old *cough* in 88 for it to have been that one. 😂. Okay, I'm doing some research and I can't find what I'm looking for. All I remember is that it was on television around the time of Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang and Bedknobs and Broomsticks. Those three films (not a serial) on consecutive weekends. (edited) 8y
batsy I only have a vague memory when this played on a local TV channel. I feel the need to re-watch this now! 8y
awishman LOVED this version growing up. My brother and I would play act parts of it. 8y
Cinfhen Tilda 😍🙌🏻💕 8y

The Chronicles of Narnia | Clive Staples Lewis

I bought this large illustrated copy of "The Chronicles of Narnia" YEARS ago in anticipation of becoming a mother. It will be lovely when we can share in the magic together. Anyone else have a shelf dedicated to your future generations or am I just that crazy? ?P.S. I do have an almost two year old daughter now. #aprilbookshowers #samebookdifferentcover #turkishdelight

Rachbb3 Yes! But mine went a little awry. I have the entire Nancy Drew series that I loved when I was young. I was going to give them to my future daughters. Well I had 3 boys. 😂 8y
BeckyWithTheGoodBooks Hahahaha @Rachbb3! That is awesome. I have a huge box of Babysitters Club books ready and waiting. Hehe. 8y
TobeyTheScavengerMonk When I found out I was going to be a dad I went a little nuts trying to buy EVERY book and movie I had ever loved as a kid. 8y

JenP Yes, I have a physical shelf for my daughter (who is 6 now) and I have a Goodreads shelf where I place books I think she'll ejoy when she gets older 8y
BeckyWithTheGoodBooks @TobeyTheScavengerMonk That is awesome! My husband definitely gave me some side eye when I was buying things like this for hypothetical children, but I know he will appreciate it when we're able to share our literary loves with Josie. She is named after Josephine March, so my behavior can't be THAT surprising. Haha. 8y
BeckyWithTheGoodBooks @JenP good idea about the Goodreads shelf. I should do that too! 8y
