A delightful little collection of essays and columns that were published on a weekly basis over the course of many years in Chris Bohjalian‘s local newspaper in Vermont. The columns are reflections on the unique idiosyncrasies of life in a small town while also recognizing its place in the larger world around it. I thoroughly enjoyed Bohjalian‘s nonfiction voice.
While I read this in two shirt sittings from the edge of my seat, the ending was not a satisfying one. There are many points of view all in one chapter, and somehow, you aren't ever lost as to whose part it is you are reading.

NUMBER 13! 📚Continuing the countdown of my books, from 1st to 25th, THE JACKAL‘S MISTRESS. Today it‘s my 13th, SECRETS OF EDEN (2010), a novel about what looks like a domestic abuse murder-suicide. This was my third movie and starred a terrific John Stamos.
