I‘ve got a lot of homeowner-y, dog training-y, food-preparing-y things I *should* be doing on this beautiful Saturday. But, if the forecast is to be trusted, this might be the last day of weather for quite a while that isn‘t so hazy, hot and humid that I wander around all sweaty boobs and salty moods. SO: I shall spend this fine day on my new deck with my fictional husband, Walt Longmire. (28 pages in, and this new installment is already a win!)

Nothing finished last week. I did DNF “Leave No Trace“.
Reading the newest Craig Johnson book and loving it so far.
Next up is an ILL loan of Western poetry-really looking forward to this one!
I'm butting up against some due dates that are not renewable, so I need to get through these quickly. Thankfully, those books are fairly short that are coming up.

Meh. I like Longmire in the present, sheriffing in Absaroka County. As much as I love his and Henry's relationship, I don't care as much for these reminiscences.

A lot going on in this latest book from the Longmire series. Set in 2 time periods. 4 ⭐

Often, a book series makes me feel like I‘m reading the same book over and over again (I‘m looking at you, Janet Evanovich). This pattern is not necessarily a bad thing, especially when reading for comfort and reliability! Still, I really appreciate that Johnson does not waste my time trying to acclimate me to Walter and the gang - at 20 books in, I know the dealio - and that each story is intense and unique. Loved this latest! A hearty ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
