“ Time lounging to read a book felt overly indulgent; almost as though such leisure was reserved for another class. I had to prove my worth for receiving government benefits. This book is so good! I‘m listening to it on Libby app!

For being “the most prolific serial killer in American history,” I feel like I knew nothing about the Green River killer until I read this book. What‘s especially interesting about this is that, when the original book was written, they still hadn‘t solved the case - the parts of the book that talk about who he ended up being were added over a decade later. #liveandlearn #booked2020 prompt - & book 7 of the year so far 😱

Joy for Beginners is about a group of women whose lives are interconnected, and how they support each other. Kate has been encouraged by her friends to do something outside of her comfort zone. They, in turn, agree to let Kate choose something for each of them to do. This is the story of what she chooses for each of them and why, and how it enriches their lives.

I chose this one for a "least favorite genre" reading prompt based on recommendations and high praise. I don't tend to like true crime books because they read really dry to me but this one sucked me in from the get go and kept me captivated the entire time and I ended up loving it, much to my surprise! The entire situation is just mind boggling. I have no idea how one person can be so manipulative and evil. I highly recommend this one!

This is seriously one of the most twisted stories I have ever read.... If it wasn't true I'd call it gratuitous. Memories of insanely abusive mother based on interviews with her daughters. I actually couldn't sleep after reading it yesterday. Googled her earlier and oml they're letting her out of jail in 2 years, yikes!

Thankyou to #netgalley for the ARC. A darkly disturbing yet unputdownable book. I was hooked from the first chapter. The book is the true story of 3 sisters who grew up in a house of horrors where their mother was the instigator of unbelievable torture and manipulation towards them. The survival of these sisters is testament to the strength of their sisterly bonds despite everything they were made to endure at the hands of their mother and father.

Starting my 7th (!!!!) book of the new year and this guy comes up and lays down right on my face. He‘s so darn cute, I can‘t even deal. He‘s become a great reading buddy, too.❤️🥰 #catsoflitsy #kittensoflitsy #littenkitten #kittenlitten #readingbuddy #keepingmesafe #snugglebuddy #booksandcats

Book 4
A memoir about the cycle of poverty and the stigmas of government welfare, this was an excellent listen! While the writing doesn't wow, it certainly doesn't hinder. The author's voice is the strength of the book and the force behind its engagability, especially since she's the reader. I was disappointed there wasn't more and would be happy for a sequel about the next chapter of her life. 4.5 stars

I couldn‘t stop listening to this #KindleUnlimited #TrueCrime read! Horrifyingly fascinating, this tells the story of what went on behind the closed doors (and secluded yard) of a Washington home. It‘s dark, and definitely nauseating at times with how sadistic this woman, Shelly, really is... plus I think this is the first audiobook that I have listened to where someone had my name!! #AudioColoring
