Such a good cozy, and set on an island off the coast of Maine (Maine is my favorite state). I wished while reading this that I could be enjoying the fresh salt air, without the murder, of course. Julia returns home to save her family‘s clambake business, but murder happens before the official start of the season. Now, there are plenty of suspects, and the bank is calling in the loan. The recipes sound delish, even to this vegetarian. ⬇️⬇️⬇️

The premise of this book fascinated me – a family with 12 children, 6 of them diagnosed with schizophrenia. There is a lot of research included about the history of the scientific research of schizophrenia which was interesting, but at times dry. The book felt a bit one-sided since majority of the POV came from the sisters, which isn‘t the author‘s fault. This was both an emotional and educational read. TW: domestic violence & child abuse.

Squeezing another middle grade book into #BBRC #YeahBaby #WhenItRainsItPours - and in this case it‘s pouring paint!

Rosie is a young engineer. When her great-great-aunt Rose asks her for help, she meets her Riveter friends “The smartest, sassiest, toughest bunch of airplane builders you ever saw.”

SO much to love in this! Scientists that keep experimenting, an explanation of valves, a bit of a history of Rosie the Riveter, and loads of fun!

LibrarianRyan @RachelO Yep. It stands for Sexuality and gender acceptance. It means it just is. It's in the book and not explained. It's normalized if you will. 4y

This took a bit to get into, but then it just takes off and you discover that you are already in love with the older man delivering the 10year old former Kiowa captive home to her relatives. Beautiful writing. #bbrc #yeahbaby #whenitrainsitpours because it is basically raining throughout their entire journey!
