#whyhaventireadthisyet talking about the both obvious and veiled eroticism in legends, folktales, fairytales and superstitions. How is this not going to be a super fun read?! The blurb ends with "perhaps you'd better find out what those fairies are up to at the bottom of your garden..." I love books on folklore and keep meaning to get to this. I have a tbr problem

Riveted_Reader_Melissa I have that problem too! 6y
Weaponxgirl @Riveted_Reader_Melissa I'm not sure it's curable and I think it may be contagious 😉 6y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Weaponxgirl Yes, Unfortunately the first step is admitting you have a problem.... but the second step is joining places like Litsy and Goodreads and Libraries and they all exponentially increase the problem! 😂 #BookishProblems 6y

#whyhaventireadthisyet so I've been seeing posts about this other tagged book. This novel about the artist artemisia came way before in 1947. It has its own story too as her first draft got destroyed in the Second World War. I discovered it from 500 great books for women and still haven't read it! Gah. It's also a #womenintranslation

Weaponxgirl The other book, I do want to read it too! 6y
Redwritinghood @Weaponxgirl Loved Blood, Water, Paint, but haven‘t read this one. Stacked! 6y
Weaponxgirl @Redwritinghood yay, hope you enjoy it 😀 6y

#whyhaventireadthisyet OK , I have read this and I love it. Quite a few books that are lesser well known and kicking about my flat are from this book. This hasn't been updated since 1994 unfortunately but it has a good selection of writers who aren't just white. The bookclub on goodreads based on this book is also lovely and here's a place you can see how many you've read

Next in my #whyhaventireadthisyet of books I have kicking about. There's going to be a lot of old viragos I'm going to warn you. Short experimental stories by women that shocked Victorian critics. Hell yes! Kate Chopin and Charlotte Perkins gilman are here along with others I haven't heard of before.

rockpools Sounds great! 6y
Weaponxgirl @RachelO I thought so 😀 I really need to get on my own bookshelves sometimes rather than wanting what's shiny and new all the time 6y
batsy I parked up when I saw this 😆 Looks great! 6y

I want to post about books I've picked up randomly that look really interesting and different but there isn't much info on. I'd love to see what books others have hiding on their shelves too. First up this is about a woman who lived as a man for years. Had a family and everything and then got prosecuted for it. #whyhaventireadthisyet
