Happy International Women's Day to all you wonderful women on Litsy.
I was lucky to have a strong women role model in my mother and am surrounded by wonderful women friends in my life.
My feeling is that women will make the difference in what's ahead for us. If women become the Prime Ministers, Presidents, CEO's great things will happen. Our nurturing nature will progress climate action and stop wars and hatred.
Have a wonderful day 😘😘😘😘

CarolynM 👋Hi Sally. I've missed seeing you around here. I'm guessing work is pretty demanding right now. Hope you are well. Sending love and hugs 😘🤗 4y
Freespirit Hi @CarolynM thank you for asking😘...I haven‘t been on Litsy much , or reading as much as usual and I miss it! I work in ICU here and we are navigating our way into what looks like being a busy time. I‘ve been tending my veggie garden trying to stay positive😊 How are you going? Are the shelves empty in Melbourne? What are you reading? 4y
CarolynM Glad you're ok. If the predictions are right you are about to be in for a very challenging time - I will be thinking of you and feeling grateful for the work you do. The uncertainty is difficult for us but we will be ok. There are some empty shelves in the supermarkets around here, but enough stuff is available (fortunately I had plenty of toilet paper when this all began). Stay in touch and reach out anytime it might help😘 4y
Freespirit I will look forward to catching up with you online😘 @CarolynM 4y

#whyhaventireadthisyet OK , I have read this and I love it. Quite a few books that are lesser well known and kicking about my flat are from this book. This hasn't been updated since 1994 unfortunately but it has a good selection of writers who aren't just white. The bookclub on goodreads based on this book is also lovely and here's a place you can see how many you've read

UCLAoso Yikes! I‘ve only read seven..! 6y
Weaponxgirl @UCLAoso a lot are quite obscure to be fair! 6y

Lone US publisher takes up challenge to publish only women in 2018. I may have to purchase all their books this year to support them! http://www.oregonlive.com/books/index.ssf/2018/01/not_a_pipe_publishing.html?utm...

Carolyn11215 Yesterday, I bought the reasonably priced Kindle version of the first book they published in 2018. 6y

I am one (something) away from a Litfluence score of 500! Please enjoy this detail of a vintage fur-lined coat because Litsy makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. 🖤📚

So I'm finding litsy really inspiring right now, the books you guys read and all the challenges are great. I've been looking at the #24in48 and I'm really tempted to join, but I'm working the Friday and Saturday night and not sure if I can make it. When my work is quiet I'm getting in quite a few hours reading in there but not sure if I can do 24 hours over the weekend. What do you guys think? Should I try it anyway?

ChasingOm Yeah!! I'm moving that weekend, but I'm still going to fit in as much reading as possible! 7y
moranadatter Do it anyway! People are pretty understanding about that. 7y
vivastory You should definitely do it anyways. Sometimes boring responsibilities interfere. We understand. 7y

LindsayReads I have to work all day Saturday and have wondered the same thing. Maybe I can do 12in24 😂😂😂 7y
CocoReads Try it anyway. I did my first Dewey's 24 hour challenge in the fall but only read about 6 hours because of family obligations. It was still fun though 7y
Weaponxgirl @LindsayReads I obviously feel your pain! Lol, yea well just hope for quiet days 7y
Weaponxgirl @vivastory @ChasingOm @kmdartist @CocoReads you've convinced me to sign up for it now! It sounds like good fun anyway 😀 7y
24in48 Try it anyway! There's legitimately no pressure to hit 24 hours. It's supposed to fun and also make room for things you've got going on. 7y
24in48 @LindsayReads Lots of people do 12 instead 😜 7y
LindsayReads @24in48 Well then IT'S ON. 📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚😃📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚 7y
andreadmw My kind of gang! I'm in the middle of a 1-woman 24in48 right now! 7y
Ubookquitous Even if you can't do the whole marathon goal, joining gives you great incentive to read as much as you can in what time you do have. Good luck and I'd join a book gang!! 7y
Weaponxgirl @24in48 thanks for the input 😀 it's just when I'm night shifting I work for 11 hours then have to get some sleep in so not my best times for reading 7y
Weaponxgirl @andreadmw @Archetype67 your both very welcome to join any gang I might start 😉 there's normally food and wine involved too 7y
andreadmw @Weaponxgirl you speak my language!! 7y

Because I like lists. I have only read 25 of the 500. I wish there was an update, this list is from 1994!
