It took these people the addition of M and L to get this. The guy tried “King Arthur and Marian” because King Arthur and Robin Hood are the same thing, right? 🙄 If any of these people were readers, then they might have gotten this before it was just sad and embarrassing. 🤦🏼‍♀️

This came up in my journal app as something I saved one year ago today. It seemed fitting for the Litsy-verse.

RaimeyGallant Insightful. 6y
GingerAntics @RaimeyGallant I can‘t think of where I saw that, though. Oh well. It‘s still a good quote. 6y

Neil Gaiman on why our future depends on libraries, reading and daydreaming. This man is so brilliant. We need more people in the world like him.

Great article/speech on why libraries, reading, and imagination are good for society.

GingerAntics This really made me think of @JenlovesJT47's little Jace. He's going to be a genius!!! 6y
JenlovesJT47 Aww thanks for saying that! 😘😘😘 and he‘s right, reading is so important! If only more people would realize this. 6y
GingerAntics @JenlovesJT47 it really is. I think it all comes down to what your parents did with you. If your parents were/are readers you're more likely to be read to and model reading for your child, so they're more likely to become readers. If you're parents didn't, it's just not in your mental image of parenting. It's not to say people can't do it when they're parents didn't, it's just not as common as I really wish it were. 6y

JenlovesJT47 So true! 6y
GingerAntics @JenlovesJT47 I think that's why, at one point, preschool programs were so good for underprivileged kids. The kids of parents that worked so long they didn't have the energy to read to their kids or for parents who aren't confident in their own reading skills, would get read to daily. Now it's all gone so academic. It's ridiculous. I feel bad for preschoolers (and kindergarteners) now. 6y
JenlovesJT47 Yeah that sucks 😞 6y
