Between the nerve wrecking and emotional nature of the read, my eyes were glued to the pages! I just could not get enough. Sometimes I saw things coming before they happened but, rather than feeling “spoiled”, it caused me to feel even more for the character because I wanted so much for something different to happen.
The bottom line is that I loved it!

Fractured | Catherine McKenzie

Mehso-so

Fractured is a mystery/thriller told from the viewpoints of John and his new neighbor, Julie. It‘s also told in different time frames, alternating between the past and the present. Character development is pretty minimal, the focus is on the mystery, which keeps you guessing until the very end. I liked this book well enough, but I didn‘t love it. Many parts of it just didn‘t seem realistic to me. A decent book but not a full 4 stars in my opinion.

Before this novel I have only read three YA fantasy novels. Majority of the time I avoid that genre but this novel had me hook line and sinker and thankfully Socialbookco gave me a chance to review it for an honest review! Notorious RBG gives you a glimpse inside the life and iconic career of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. After reading this book, my level of respect for Justice Ginsburg exploded! She‘s a true feminist who has lived her life as a die hard advocate for civil rights, women‘s rights and the less fortunate. Her journey is truly amazing given the many struggles she had to triumph. Her perseverance is a reminder to never give up!!

A short, sharp, and effective essay about gender, the wrong ideas many people have about feminism, and why it is so damn important. Even today! Thank you so much BookRiot.com editors for recommending this to me!

I absolutely loved the concept behind this book.I constantly catch myself filling my free time with activities I feel like I‘m “suppose to”. Then if I turn them down I feel guilty. I breezed through this book in a few hours, but it didn‘t provide me with much insight. What I got from this book was that it is ok not to say yes to everything, as long as you are polite and honest about it. In other words, to quote the book, “Don‘t be an asshole”.

This book is by far #1 on my Read list for 2016! In A Mother‘s Reckoning, Sue recalls the most fateful day of her life, revealing, in some of the details, what seems to be a striking attunement to her 17-year-old son, Dylan. If there is one single, painful, recurring message in Klebold‘s memoir, it is that she did not truly know her son

On this week‘s podcast of All The Books by BookRiot.com, heard about Fever Dream by Samanta Schweblin(translated by Megan McDowell) and based on what Miss Liberty Hardy shared, I had to check it out!
I found this short story so compelling and yet at the end so confusing but yet clear? One of the most emotion filled reads I have ever read! I cannot wait to find more by this newly translated author!

I was so excited to read this when my nephew introduced me to it. I dove head first in and by the time I was neck deep, I was falling asleep. I know that "classics" are classics for a reason but this one I just struggled to get through...
