bailedGranted, I didn‘t give this book much of a chance and only read about a quarter of it but, I wasn‘t really into the story and thought that it was quite slow-paced. I might come back to this book later but for now, it‘s my first Did Not Finish of 2021.
Another late entry to #litsyyearbook. (I was away and then had to find my yearbook.) Graduating class of 91. My #bookishsuperlative then: most likely to spend all her money on magazines. (I LOVED magazines. I considered it a sign of the good life to have multiple subscriptions.) My #bookishsuperlative now? Most likely to remember a specific detail from a book while forgetting the plot and possibly the title.

Sooo, I didn't participate in the #litsyyearbook thing because I have zero pictures of me before college. I don't even remember what I looked like when I was little because I haven't seen any pictures since I was a pre-teen. But, I did ask my mom if she had any pictures of me & she managed to find this tiny freshman yearbook pic, and I took a picture with it. So this is me then vs me now. I'm so glad I finally ditched that middle part 😂

@JacintaMCarter here is an actual yearbook superlative I was chosen for. (I'm on the left). I also was picked for most likely to succeed, where we posed with dollars in our hands. Since I became a teacher, I may find success, but not lots of dollars.
More apt: most likely to read all kinds of YA books "for my students" when they are really mostly for me :)

#litsyyearbook I have no clue where my actual yearbooks are, but here is a picture from senior year in 1994. Most likely to get an A on the paper for the assigned material but still almost did not graduate because I was terrified to talk in the seminar about it. This actually happened, lol. I was voted "quietest female" and when the quietest male and I took the pic for the yearbook I had NEVER seen him EVER!! Good times, good times. ???

Here's a funny story: my senior superlative was "most opinionated," but I found out second hand because I thought the whole idea was silly and skipped the awards ceremony. Mine was Waiting to Exhale by Terry McMillan. I've never read it but now I kinda want to!
For the last three years I have created my son's school's (almost 800 students) yearbook--from photographer to designer to publisher to salesperson to distributor. This is his last year in elementary so my last year as the "yearbook lady." We distributed them today. Can I tell you just how much work this has been??? With a full time job too? It was rewarding but I am so so grateful to be done.
