So, I am a knitter, and I listen to books while I knit... It's a perfect combo! This series of books thrill me for several reasons. They include characters who lust over yarn AND the stories are funny with intriguing characters!! I had never heard of bitcoins, but now have learned something new! Great author Penny Reid and great narrator Devra Woodward!

MrBook Here you go, @BookBabe ! 8y
MyBookLife I like to knit!! But I love to crochet ❤️ Right now I'm doing doilies in different patterns and sizes, I tried to filet for the first time yesterday. It is so much fun! I am now trying to find pixelated bookish pictures. Do you know of any? What are you doing? 8y
Bethsh I do mostly scarves and baby blankets... LOVE yarn!!! 8y

So glad to revisit this magical place where the brutality of Apartheid took place. The Power of One is the first and tells of a white boy turned boxer who has a huge heart and love for all people. Tandia is the follow on story and has as many, or more, incredibly wonderful characters. The narrator, Humphrey Bower, is such a great story teller, but my favorite is how the author weaves in the history of the times among his diverse characters.

Penny_LiteraryHoarders Bryce Courtenay is a go-to author whenever I'm in a slump. The Whitethorn is another great piece of storytelling! 8y
Eyelit Yay - another Courtenay fan! 8y
Bethsh Thanks for that!! I added it to my Audible library! 8y
Bethsh Finished it and I have to say I was disappointed in the end. If seemed too rushed, and I'm not sure there was sense to it 8y
Curiouser_and_curiouser I loved Humphrey Bower as the narrator too, a perfect choice for these 2 books! 5y

I love humorous, but touching romance books with HEA... This one did not disappoint. I listened to it and the narrator did a great job bringing the characters to life

Lauren_reading I loved this book! It was my first by this author, but I have more that I bought. 8y

I'm not sure where this story is going, but I am liking it so far. Good historical pieces scattered throughout the story. The Russian Revolution and WW l. Set in Ukraine in 1930. Sure does remind me of with how fortunate we are to live in a country that defends freedom.

Bethsh Just finished the audio version. Very well done! Suspenseful, touching, tough subject matter handled well. 8y

I love it when an author can get you on the edge of your seat while penning a non-fiction book. This book had a very good Ken Burns feel to it and I honestly could not stop listening to it! The narrator read very well. The ordeal these men went through was beyond imagination. Thank you Hampton Sides

Loved the story and the audible version was read by Jenna Lamia who is one of my favorite narrators. Some really heartfelt story lines with some good research on antique restoration and wildlife/animal rescue.

Finished this dystopian thriller that has a very unique twist on a world gone to the zombies. Well written. I listened to it and the reader did a fine job! Highly recommend!

Nemone I'm planning on reading it soon, can't wait! 8y
Joanne1 Yes! Love this and thought Carey wrote one of the best endings I've read in a long time. 8y
