There's quite a bit I like in We Are Legion (We Are Bob): interstellar travel, problem solving with limited resources, first contact with sapient aliens, interplanetary colonization, terraforming--the list goes on. What I'm not so fond of is the massive amount of technobabble and all the hand-waving that still happens.

Despite the annoyances, the positives outweighed the negatives for me so I'll be reading the next book.

This book is complicated. I loved the first half of the story when it followed a single main character, but as the book progressed and more characters were introduced, I got lost in multiple different tangents that all start to happen at the same time.

I enjoyed this Sci-Fi romp- I kept seeing this as the love child of The Expanse series and Hitchhiker‘s Guide to the Galaxy series, but that might be selling it short, as there was plenty to chew on here. The action kept going at a good clip and sets up nicely for the sequels that I know are out there- and this was definitely good enough to continue the series.

Heading into part 2 of the Bobiverse! Let‘s make the not too improbable assumption that all Sci-Fi is somehow connected. This being the case, I see this, because of its narrative tone, as a not so distant cousin of The Hitchhiker‘s Guide to the Galaxy. Does it have the same classic potential? I must read on…

A fun and quirky sci-fi romp. I enjoyed the light-hearted style, and the audio narration was terrific.

One more book to hit my goodreads goal for the year.

This is the 4th installment in the Bobiverse series. This is the story about finding the replicant Bender. He set out to explore the stars and was never heard from again. Original Bob sets out to find him. Meanwhile, all is not well in the Bobiverse. War is brewing. Great story and the narration was outstanding. Love the humor that lightened the mood of the story. I need more books set in this world. 5⭐ for both book and narrator.

Here is another great series that I loved. A story about a software engineer who dies and is cyro frozen then re awakened to help mankind find livable plants for mankind before earth becomes uninhabitable.

bit of an unpopular opinion from what I can tell, but I couldn't jive with our current book club read at all. I honestly find Bob more obnoxious as a character than anything else, and his penchant for pop culture references was incredibly grating. on top of that, the humor was constantly falling flat for me and this flavor of hard sci-fi is more of a slog. I see why this book appeals to others but it's not what I like.

I found this really funny—just what the doctor ordered this week. The narrator (Ray Porter) is phenomenal—I can hardly wait to listen to more of his work. I hope the rest of the series will be as much fun!

Your ship has finally come in, you sold your company for a tidy sum & decide not only to celebrate, but to will that tidy sum to yourself as you sign up for cryogenics... however you soon wake up far in the future, but instead of “after medical technology has advanced enough to heal you” as stated in the brochure, you are awakened as property of the state, downloaded into a computer as an AI, competing to man their current project.... to space!

I am always grateful for challenges/groups/podcasts/reading buddies when I pick up something I may otherwise pass over and wind up loving it. This book is such an easy listen. Snark is my love language!

🎧 Well, that was fun! Bob in the 21st century is killed in Las Vegas and, per his wishes, his head is cryogenically preserved. Fast forward 300 years, and he awakens on top of a lab table not quite himself! 😉

What follows is an adventure through space, time and, SFF pop culture references as Bob becomes legion.

It‘s gorgeous out here this morning!

Bob signs a contract with a cryogenic company and wakes up as an AI, property of the government and candidate for a space mission. Oops. After a strong start the book gets bogged down a bit, but recovers. It isn't high literature, but I had fun and will check out the sequel.

And the Geeks shall inherit the Galaxy. One moment Bob has sold his tech start up, is wealthy happy and next he is dead. Revived as a computer program in the distant future, he is made the pilot of a Von Neumann machine and sent to prepare the galaxy for human colonisation. Soon there are many Bob‘s and his personality means his has gone of his creators script. The first in a series, a very fun quick read in the style of the Martian.

This is hands down my favorite sci-fi series. If you have never read it and like sci-fi even a little bit, I highly suggest you read it! It‘s even better as an audio book if that‘s your thing. What is you favorite sci-fi? I‘m looking for a new read. :)

Book 1 of the Bobiverse trilogy is an above average sci-fi audiobook. The narrator is good. The story is good. Anyone who liked The Martian will probably like this book. Nothing extraordinary here, but still pretty good. Overall rating: 4.01 stars.

Just started yet another SciFi book. Totally sucked in after 2 chapters. So far We Are Legion has dealt with many weighty moral and scientific issues in the context of an extremely entertaining story. There's even great hints of humor in the first couple of chapters. I'm looking forward to finishing this one quickly.

Wow! All the Bawbes! This speculative fiction story has everything! AI, classic sci-fi references, interplanetary travel, bickering factions, aliens, and more Bobs than you can shake a stick at! Highly recommended!

I started reading this along with the Sword and Laser book club podcast. It's not a book I would have picked myself but I loved it! It made me chuckle a lot and I loved the sentient spaceship narration. Bonus points for sensible space exploration (I'm talking about you Star Trek, even though I love you!)

I enjoyed this light hearted space romp with Bob, an AI spaceship who makes multiple copies of himself to create the Bobiverse. Bob is a fan of science fiction and pop culture, so he makes many, many references to Star Trek and Star Wars along with The Simpsons and Monty Python. Taylor has two more books in the series.

This is a fun, fast paced read. I loved the concept and enjoyed the story.

Choosing to have his head frozen after his death only to find he is 'property' when he wakes. He begins an adventure to explore space and save the human race.

Funny, quirky, and science-y, so glad I bought this audiobook! Ray Porter is doing an excellent job narrating 😊

It is hard to pick, but The Lying Game has probably been my favorite finished summer read so far. I LOVE reading thrillers in the summer. That being said, so far I'm enjoying listening to We Are Legion (We Are Bob) on #audiobook - super funny and the narration is great!

Released today is book three in this series. I read it's the conclusion, that makes me a bit sad because I enjoy the series so much.

This great #audiobook literally ended as I pulled into my parking space this morning. I could not have timed it better. #magical

This is a fun, fairly light-hearted, geeky sci-fi novel. Full of Star Wars and Star Trek trivial along with a smattering of other geeky trivia scattered throughout. We follow Bob across the universe as he searches for viable planets and everything he encounters along the way. If you liked THE MARTIAN you will probably also enjoy this book. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Oh, man! So far I am loving this book. Sci-fi, cryogenics, AI, eerie yet realistic political events, and a narrator with a great balance intelligence and levity.

Great recommendation from a friend. This is just a lot of fun, and the Bobiverse is a place I'm happy to inhabit for a few hours.

This has been really fun so far and is great on audio book because the narrator does such a good job with weird voices.

Wow this is anthor fun sci-fi audiobook! My wife got me the sequel also I'm gonna start it immediately. It has the right amount of sci-fi with the right amount of action. Check it out this book is worth it!

Such a fun book!!! Right up there with The Martian and Ready Player One!! Book 2 is out in April and I can't wait! The audio version is very well done. Highly recommend this great sci-fi romp in the stars!

Just finished this one as an Audiobook.
Very cool and funny listen comparable (but not as good as) Ready Player One and The Martian.
I found the story very interesting especially in the beginning but by the end i was getting bored.
Will consider continuing the serie when book 2 comes out.
