I‘m giving this book a so-so rating because I have extremely mixed feelings about it. It was good enough to make me super scared, and to get me to buy two more in the series. BUT when I say I was scared by it, I do NOT mean the fun kind of scared. I was so grossed out by it that I REALLY though about putting it down and never picking it back up! But I did end up finishing it and the ending kept me gripped enough to pick up the sequel!

Not necessarily one I would have on my all time favorites shelf, but I really really liked it all the same! I‘m constantly reading books with mysterious, brooding love interests (and don‘t get me wrong I LOVE those types of love interests) but I was so pleased with what a nice guy prince Maxon was, and how actually nice and genuine the relationship between Maxon and America became!

This book certainly was on the strange side but I absolutely adored it! I‘m baffled that more teen readers don‘t know about it! And, my gosh, the atmosphere was GORGEOUS!!
