This was one of my top favorite books of 2018. Heartbreaking to read, but gives you such an intimate perspective of a couple‘s relationship in trying to start a family and the devastating events that follow.

This was a page turner! Over the course of a dinner, 2 families who are hiding secrets about their children come head-to-head in figuring out how far they‘re willing to go to protect the kids‘ futures. The movie based on it looks pretty good too!
Man, if the last 40 pages were written like the rest of the novel! Kevin is in Austin, TX for an interview and sees the woman from the plane on the street- in trying to make contact, he meets several other people who have an impact on his day. Later in the day when he‘s supposed to show up for the interview, a catastrophic event happens that makes him re-think his life. Could‘ve done without the explicit descriptions of women throughout.
I loved this one! Lauren Clay comes home from her deployment in Iraq and civilian life proves to be a difficult transition. Secrets from what happened in Iraq come to light and Lauren ends up questioning what is real and what isn‘t. Lots of twists at the end, I‘d definitely recommend it.
Oh my goodness this book had me in tears at the end. The follow-up to Beartown, it starts at the point where the hockey club is about to go under. At the last meeting minute a sponsor saves the club, and the town tries to rebuild. It comes with a great cost, and at the same time the two rival teams‘ rivalry comes head-to-head with devastating consequences. Beautiful writing, and you fall in love with Beartown and the people in it.
This was an amazing first novel by Rachel Lyon- I loved her main character, Lu, and the story she had to tell. It‘s about an aspiring photographer in New York who, by chance, takes a photograph of a boy falling to his death in the background of her self-portrait. She has to decide- tell the parents of the boy he is the feature of her debut photo- or make it the starting point of her artist career.
This wasn‘t my absolute-favorite Jodi book, but I still enjoyed it a lot! You get into the worlds of comics as well as rural Alaskan living. It is about sexual assault, so I wouldn‘t recommend it if you‘re not up to reading about it. All in all, beautiful writing and great/complex characters.
Went to the library to return books, ended up with just as many to take home. One happy camper over here 😊
Starting this book- I‘ve read several Lisa Jewell books recently and thought I‘d give this a shot. Featuring the bookmark my mom gave me for my birthday.
