Pickpick

While on honeymoon, David finds out that his bride Laura is his sister. So he fakes his death and changes his identity. At the funeral, his gambling brother insinuates himself into the family to try to cheat them from their money to support his habits. But, the killer of the brothers' father has other plans for him and for Laura's family.

Great tale of suspense. I never saw this ending coming!

I love that this was told from the point of view of the stalker himself, it made for a page turning book. I actually felt some pangs for the stalker and was cheering him on in his insanity, and that in itself is insanity. The tv show was good, even though it did not adhere to the book all that well.

Loved the premise of the book and how it flows. But I have to admit that I wanted to strangle Mericat for all her foolishness and how spoilt she was. It did not bother me that we find out she was the killer in the family, or even her burying things in the yard. But her constant other childish behavior, such as her attempts to get rid of Cousin Charles by placing wet twigs and leaves on the bed. She is only making more work for her sister!

The Professor: A Tale | Charlotte Brontë

I enjoyed the book, although it could be hard to get through at times. The story follows the life of The Professor, and his search for happiness in a professional capacity as well as in love. He finds both and settles into a life. That pretty much sums up the book.

Love this book. I had forgotten that the Turtle makes an appearance and has a speaking gig. Loved the way the book chronicled them as children and as adults at the same time, so you never knew how it ended until the end. Very surprised about the sex with the group as YA's. A few references to Dark Tower thrown in.

Mary B: A Novel | Katherine Chen
Mehso-so

I loved the first 2/3 of the book. I did love that the author had Mary falling in love with Darcy's cousin. But, I found it incredulous that any fan would think that Lizzie would give up her sassy personality upon marriage. And refusing to sleep with Darcy anymore due to losing a child in birth. Add to that the fact that the author seemed to think that Darcy would cheat on Lizzie. Stop reading after Mary is left by her lover for another woman.

“This is how the entire course of a life can be changed. By doing nothing.“ Wonderful ending to a great book.

The story is about the wedding day, expectations, failures, and regrets. Neither able to look past their own insecurities and failures and work things out together, as a loving couple. Ultimately, ending with both throwing a tantrum and walking away from the other.

Specatcular book. This is a must read!

The only thing I am not enjoying about this audio is that there are no breaks between character changes. But the book is fantastic and very enjoyable. Very funny and a light-hearted take on the Good and Evil angels teaming up to stop the Armageddon from happening (they enjoy Earth too much).

Helena builds a memory chair that unintentionally sends the person back in time to that exact memory, therefore allowing them to relive their life and correct their mistakes. gets in the wrong hands thus atomic war kills everyone. she goes back and relives her life about 12 times to try to save humanity. The buildup to the end was great, but it seems as though Blake couldn't figure out an ending and basically stated that everything was ok.

I continued the trek direct into this last one from the 2nd. Loved the ending and how the characters progressed. Loved Ema finding out about her boyfriend, even though it was painful. Loved Mickey finding out how gullible he is and the consequences from that trust. I only wish there was another in the series, but I could not find another one listed. The only question I have that was never answered, was why was it so important to not tell Myron?

I really enjoyed this book, and dove direct to it from the first in the series. Loved finding out more about the people in the Abeona Shelter. But, I was very pissed that this book had Mickey being interrogated for the shooting, all while the cops were saying he was not a suspect. But they dragged his arse down to the station and did not allow him to have his guardian with him during the questioning.

I love the Myron Bolitar books, so I knew this series would be great too. Mickey turns a rag-tag set of kids into a sleuth group and they solve the mystery of where Mickey's gf has disappeared to. This is set with a good amount of mystery that ends on a great setup to the next in the series. Nothing like the silliness of scooby-doo, but it does involve all teens figuring out the clues. Also, the reading is done by a great voice (Nick Pedehl).

Six Years | Harlan Coben

I love anything Harlan Coben writes, and this was no exception. Hooks you in from the beginning.

Jake falls in love with Natalie, then she dumps him unexpectedly for another man. She invites him to the wedding, and makes him promise to leave her and her new husband alone. Six years later Jake sees an obituary for Natalie's husband, and you can guess the rest. He tries hunting her down only to get involved in much more than he bargained for.

I loved the twist in the stories from the idealized versions we have today.
