Received this for Christmas and read it the next day. A fun read and a fascinating look at the early days of the Star Wars phenomenon. She will be greatly missed. 😢

Superior YA, expertly researched. Moving story that doesn't tip over into sentimentality. 10/10 would read again and I did!

About halfway through and already looking forward to the sequel. Solid SF, strong writing. Complete sentences are so refreshing.

Dark and depressing - not your typical Heyer. Many Heyer fans don't care for Penhallow but I loved it. You might need a drink and a hug afterwards.

Tried to read this for book club, but it's just not for me. I'm the only nerd who doesn't like Gaiman's work. Believe me, I've tried! YMMV obviously.

I always need a current audiobook for my commute. I like Sophy a lot in the book but I think in real life I would find her a bit overbearing.

If you can find this out-of-print book from the 1960s DO IT. I read this as a kid in the early 70s and spent ages trying to find it again after I had kids.

You will love Opalina's version of American history, and the illustrations are fun too! Absolutely worth having your library find it for you.

Alternating between the audiobook and the free Kindle version. They're different translations and it's fun to pick out the differences.

I read a review of this that mentioned the author's "dated prose style". I figured that meant "no sentence fragments" and immediately ordered a used copy.

I'm enjoying it quite a bit (I was right about the sentence fragments), but a Kindle version would be nice. It's heavy!
