I am love Discworld. Its denizens helped me through the darkest time in my life. But somehow I've never read any with Moist Lipwig. Don't make the same mistake as me, allow this con man into your home. Mr Pump will keep him honest. Honest. If you need a pick me up (after the last few weeks you probably do) give this a crack.

This is the second time I have read this book and I fell in love with it all over again. Well written characters that you feel for, the history of this strange newspaper in Rome, and a great ear for awkward dialogue. You'll laugh, cry, whatever and if you don't you have no heart. Grab a warm blanket, a drink of your choice, and check this one out.

Holy crap guys, talk about a good start to a series. I'm not a huge fan of military science fiction but if they all were as good as this, I wouldn't read anything else. Characters that actually have some depth to them besides "I get to shoot things HOORAH" (nothing necessarily wrong with that but I digress), probably the most thought put into space combat I have ever read, no romance just to have it. A quick but excellent read for sci-fi fans.

Between reading Dauntless and playing No Man's Sky (art above), I have been craving good science fiction. I have Caves of Steel on hold through Overdrive but I'm curious if there is any good sci-fi my fellow bookworms can recommend for an Alaskan with a month of rain ahead of him.

The Power and the Glory | Graham Greene

A fast, fascinating read that (in my opinion) shows the one of the best depictions of faith in a time of hardship. Greene paints an excellent picture of a time in Mexico when one's faith could be a death sentence and the one priest who, for better or worse, continues to serve God despite it all including his own doubts and failings.

Joy is in the ears that hear, not in the mouth that speaks. The wold has few stories glad in themselves, and we must have gay ears to defy Despite.
