The Golem and the Jinni | Helene Wecker
Mehso-so

This was a beautiful story that did not need 400+ pages to tell. It started out great and became a snooze fest towards the middle. I was forcing myself to finish the book. That being said, I would suggest checking it out because of the interesting concept, as there are not too many novels like this one that I have come across.

I forgot to post that I am reading Kindred. I used this book to fill the space on my bingo card for a book that scares me. I think time travel is a fascinating and frightening concept in literature. (Picture of my Kindle)

Tamra Love your Kindle case! I‘m pondering a Kindle for Xmas. I‘m such a paper fan though, so I‘m a little reluctant. 7y
Katsandbooks I love my Kindle. I try to get my books at used bookstores and indie bookstores, but sometimes I can't find them used or they are super expensive. I use my Kindle for those books. I also use a digital library for books too. 7y

Pickpick

This book is an exceptional example of science fiction. It is beautifully written, the story itself is entertaining (a plus that it's a retelling of a certain 14th century collection of poems), and the characters come to life. I look forward to reading the entire series.

A beautiful story that will rip your heart to pieces. Based on the true story of Grace Marks, a young girl accused of murdering her employer. Please read if you are interested in mid-19th century society and mental health.

Amazing! I was fully enthralled. Gaiman retold these ancient stories perfectly.

Question for you more experienced Littens...how do you get a Litsy Pen pal? Do you just happen to meet someone or is there a page or hashtag you can use to find someone? I think it would be fun to have a pen pal!

Thanks in advance!

drokka There were some sign ups for pen pals, I'm not sure if there are any active sign ups at the moment though. 7y
Katsandbooks Oh I see. Thanks for the info! 7y
TheQuietQuill I always wanted to know the same answer to this question. A litsy pen pal would be so much fun! 7y

robinb @Katsandbooks @TheQuietQuill If you two are newer to Litsy, here's a link to #LitsyTips that @RaimeyGallant compiled to help our newcomers navigate and find their way a little easier on here. http://litsy.com/p/RzZCTVZYU1ND I don't think there is an open pen pal signup currently, but be on the lookout. There were two just recently. Welcome Aboard, glad you're here! ❤️🙌😊 7y
Katsandbooks @robinb thanks for the advice! I will be on the lookout 7y
GA_Bookworm07 Ive been looking for some myself 7y
Katsandbooks @avidbookworm02 Yea me too. If you click on the link it shows that every so often there will be a sign up for pen pals. 7y
GA_Bookworm07 Not really fond of pen pal sign ups. I like to find themyself 7y
GA_Bookworm07 Them* myself. 7y
Katsandbooks @avidbookworm02 Ah, I see. I think I'll be patient and see what happens. I'm interested to see how that works. 7y
GA_Bookworm07 Good luck with that. Ive done others before and they dont last. Ive pen palled for 20 years. Its a waste of time to do a pen pal swap and ur not compatible or whatever. 7y
Katsandbooks Oh well it would be my first time so I will see what happens 7y

Interesting story of the Cold War. I enjoyed the main story of this book, but some parts were boring and hard to get through. I would suggest this book if you have a great interest in Cold War politics and diplomacy.
