Little Beast is my favorite poem so far. I‘m really happy to be rereading some Richard Siken. #poetry
I read this out loud to a friend and got choked up on the last line. I can‘t even. 😭😭

I got to a restaurant way early for the meet up, so I ordered a beer and started this book since I left my current reads at home and DAMN. Three pages in and I had tears in my eyes. I‘ll say it again: representation matters. I‘m shook to see someone like me in print, to read the same experiences I had in college. 👏
I‘m just swooning at this book, okay.
I almost gave up on this one. I love my Peter Pan stories and I was so looking forward to this one, but everything about this novel screamed first draft. The author repeated sentences or reuses similar ideas. How many times do I have to be told that Peter is evil? How many times about how much he covets James red cloak? Brom‘s Child Thief is superior to this novel in every way and I encourage all to read his work over this book.
REPRESENTATION MATTERS!! You guys. 😭 I have tears. My fist was pumping the air as I read. Wyatt, my little darling. You might not have the words to describe yourself, but there is a community of us. You‘re not alone. Can I not stress it enough that an ace characters needs to exist in romance novels??
I spent Sunday reading this awesome debut novel. I wanted to finish it before my crazy week started but alas. Now I‘m just sneaking it in on my lunch breaks. I‘m hoping to get some quiet time before bed to finish it.
July‘s book pick between my friends and I were Born A Crime and I can‘t recommend it enough. Trevor uses his comedic flex to tell you about apartheid and what it was like to grow up before and after Nelson Mandela in Africa.
While I found the writing a bit simplistic, it was exactly what I wanted after reading some harder texts the last month. I loved how antihero this protagonist was and that the author wasn‘t going to shy away from her faults as a character from the beginning. In the end, she grows to be a more likable person while not completely remodeling her into a hero. The chemistry between her and the shadow king was spot on and I loved the twist ending.
Just a weeeeeeee bit hungover, so I spent the morning with coffee and my new book on my new patio set. It was such a gorgeous day and I‘m really enjoying the anti hero of this book!
This was such a lovely mystery to lose myself in for the last few days. And omg, I didn‘t know it had a sequel. I‘m eager to continue to read about Pip!
This month, I want to focus on queer and black voices. I started this book only a day or two ago, and while it isn‘t a perfect fit, I came across this line today.
It‘s snowing outside, so I‘m staying in with a good cup of tea, Little Green Cars playing in the background, and my current read. What are you reading right now?
I read this line and fell in love, but I loved how this reader really broke down WHY. https://whilereadingandwalking.com/post/164065651091/she-was-beautiful-but-she-w...
