This is the best thriller I have ever read! A man and a woman meet at an airport bar. The man is upset he has been cheated on by his wife and talks about killing her. The woman agrees to help him do it, if he really wants to. It goes on from there. There were so many twists I never saw coming which is unusual for me. I typically guess the twists from very early on. Please read this, it is soooooo good!♥️♥️♥️

If you are looking for something different this is it! A dystopian where a company has become it's own country and owns the Palace of Versailles. Inside everyone dresses and has the social rules of the 1700s. Our main character wants out of this word. She decides to sell a drug called glitter hidden in makeup to make enough money to escape. I enjoy a morally grey character and seeing a decline instead of a rise is great sometimes!

My June wrap up! 12 books and 3742 pages. My average rating was low this month. Everything felt meh this month. I don't know if it was the mood I was in or what.

This is a little known about book, about a fashion vlogger who gets picked to do a article for a fashion magazine about an eco-tourism trip to Costa Rica. She gets her own handsome photographer to go along with her to take pictures and a romance blooms. Learning about all the real places in Costa Rica was amazing. She sees all sorts of wildlife, hikes a volcano and more. The writer also gives 10% of book sales to the Sea Turtle Conservancy

This is about a journalist who gets a once in a lifetime opportunity to interview Evelyn Hugo, a reclusive movie star, for a book. She finally is going to tell the real story of her life. Evelyn Hugo's life is facinating and juicy. She feels like a real complex person. I was worried when I started this that I wouldn't like it, I was so wrong. Once you pick this up it is hard to put down. Our entire book club gave this 5 stars!

This was one of my favorites of the series so far besides #2. The children are sent to a horrible boarding school but they meet the triplets. There are only 2 of them because they lost their sibling in a fire. I enjoyed seeing the Baudelaire's finally having friends and even better, friends they could relate to. It made the book a lot more happy even though the ending was depressing as usual. I am reading them before I watch the Netflix episode.

This was our planner girls book club pick. It is a great choice for a bookclub, it has a lot to talk about. This is about a group of four siblings that go to see a psychic who tells them the day they will die. Then the book has 4 different sections that follow each silbling's life. It is an interesting look at fate, how lives intertwine and free will. I am glad I read it but it was slow. I also finished it after book club so that is my fault.

This is a character driven story about a human girl posing as an alien on a future earth. Her alien father rescued her as a baby when they invaded. It deals with how her family has hidden her all this time and how it effects their daily life. There is really no main plot driving it. The sci-fi is background to the story. If you are expecting heavy sci-fi or an action driven plot, this isn't for you. I enjoyed it though, especially the writing.

A book has to emotionally impact me for 5 stars and boy did this ever. The trigger warnings for this book of poetry are extensive but it is worth the read. Lovelace is raw and gets right to the heart of the matter in a few well crafted words. I could relate to many of the poems and especially the first section left me in tears. I love the hope and healing in the last sections. Some of the poems made me laugh out loud. Great book of poetry!

My March wrap up! I only read 4 this month from my normal 10+. Life has been extremely busy. I am hoping to read more in April!

This is a dystopian set in the future 2045 where the population is now 5 boys to 1 girl. Boys must participate in a competition to win one of the few girls to be their wives. This has 2 perspectives, the boy's is in prose and the girl's is in verse. I loved this! The two perspectives made it so interesting! It was different seeing a world where the women are in charge and men are second class citizens. It is also a very quick read.

I absolutely adored this book from the beginning. This is about Vhalla, a librarian's apprentice who finds out she can wield magic. She has to decide if she is going to keep it and complicate her life, or have it eradicated from her. The magic system is little like avatar where you have affinities. The characters are complex and multidimensional. I could relate to a main character that loves books. I wonder why?😂 Also the cover is😍!

I got this from #netgalley for an honest review. This is about a girl named Carter who enters a cooking competition for a scholarship she desperately needs. A boy named Reid takes the cheese she wanted in the first event and sparks fly. This is a great love/hate contemporary romance. I love cooking competition shows so this was right up my alley. This has great diversity and you can feel the sexual tension. It also makes you very hungry!

This book is narrated by a dog with a human soul. The dog's owner is a race car driver whose wife ends up sick. The book mostly deals with what happens after that. The thing I didn't get is why it was a dog narrating not a person. It could of easily been the man himself or a friend. It felt a little gimmicky. The ending was also wrapped up way too quickly for me. It was just ok for me.

I was on the mood for a spooky book and this sure fit the bill. This is about a girl with her sister running away from home to live with her Aunt in a creepy house. The writing style makes the atmosphere even more unsettling. The ending was a huge suprise. I took a star off because it felt repetitive at times and could of been shorter. It is a horror novel but trigger warnings for physical abuse, extreme hunger, suicide, murder.

I have mixed feelings about this book. I believe the idea and concept the author had was great but the idea doesn't fit with the reality of concentration camps. I have read reviews of people that were at these camps and they are angry at the inaccurate representation of them. I also was spoiled for the ending so it did not emotionally impact me like other readers.The children also read incredibly naiive to the point where it gets unbelievable.

4.5 stars only because I wish it was longer.

This was $3.99 on kindle. I thought it looked good so I got it. It is about a girl coming to terms with herself and the death of her father while working at a theme park over the summer. It was amazing and half of the profits of this book go to The American Association for Suicide Prevention.

This is one of my favorite midgrade books ever. It is about a family going through major financial struggles. The little boy's way of coping with the stress is seeing a 6 foot tall purple cat. It reminded me of Harvey when I saw the cover. This is so good and I had a good cry. It also has a realistic ending not a, everything is fixed ending which I liked. This is a must read for everyone.

This is my second Applegate book and she is now one of my book Queens. This is told from the perspective of a tree and what happens when a Muslim girl moves into the neighborhood. It is so relevant today and I loved it. More adults should read more midgrade especially when it's as good as this is.

This was bad for me. They meet by Max saving Ellie from a possible sexual assault. I don't think sexual assault should be used for a plot point or a romantic encounter. The writing syle is simplistic and lacks character development. Max is controlling and creepy. He breaks into her room, bribes someone to watch her for him and wants to beat up any guy she talks to. There were also a lot of romance tropes. This was not for me.

I love this series so much and finally got the courage to finish it. In the final installment we get to visit tombs in Egypt, a space station and others. I did not expect the way this went and it was suprising in a good way. Following along with Marguerite as she world jumped was so exciting. The half star off was due to Paul and his I'm not good for you nonsense.
