Every bit as sweet and lovely as people have said. One of the raved-about recent releases that doesn‘t disappoint. Romantic, daring, exploring the wants and needs of both title characters, this was a one-sitting read for me. The perfect antidote to toxic masculinity.

Cute and fluffy, great for an afternoon diversion. I was looking for more plot/character development but plenty of fan references and romance

This Insta-love, stream-of-consciousness, hidden-chosen-one romantic dystopia is EXACTLY what I need right now. Flew through in two days. Reading slump busted!

Matilda Love your sneakers! 8y
ashlieelizabeth @Matilda thank you lady!! 8y

Book no. 2 of the weekend. Curious and a tiny bit skeptical- completely diet based health always makes me wary, and women losing "hundreds of pounds!" has already been mentioned in the intro. Let's see...

Seems especially timely to read this historical novel about a tense summer where the violence in the news is painful. Six chapters in and Hector is freaking me out. Excited to see Meg Medina at @bookriot Live in November!

Matilda Sooooo good! 8y

Loved the mystery and the restrained romance! Does anyone know if there is a sequel?

Well-ReadNeck @ashlieelizabeth Yes! Heard the author on a podcast. She's planning two more in the series. 8y

Perfect for this weekend. I'm now obsessed with gathering books about the 4th from different perspectives. Any recs?

bookishkai I don't have any Fourth recommends, but the cover of this made me think of a really great Thanksgiving picture book called Duck for Turkey Day. 8y

It's not you, it's me.

OSChamberlain Lmao best bail post ever 8y
Stephanie-Anne @OSChamberlain 😸I thought the same thing! Whenever I bail on a book, I'm apologizing to it, in case I've hurt it's feelings... 8y

Seems like everyone either loves or hates his baby. We're moving in 21 days, so I'm hoping to be washed with inspiration. Here we go 😬

ashlieelizabeth Oof I'm gonna bail on this one I think 8y
LizzyM I think there is some wisdom in this book but it makes me seriously laugh. Makes Kondo sound like a serious fruitcake to this down home farmgirl😜 8y
StephAuteri Yeah. Reading this sent me on a serious tidying binge, but I also feared for the author's sanity. 8y

"It was dark and unforgiving. It called attention to your face. It screamed, "You don't have to like me." It screamed all the things I had wanted to scream for so long, but I instead chose to stay pretty, aim for pretty, aim for flattering.

So excited to read this one. It was the end-of-year gift for my highest 1st grade reader and when she found it on her desk, she literally hugged it. Good rec.

Prettiest little beginner comic. Bedtime favorite that my 3-yr-old kept inexplicably equating to Alice in Wonderland.

Love this book and enjoyed it even more after reading Debbie Reese's (@debreese on Twitter) thoughtful reviews. It's a bedtime and classroom pick. Total outfit goals where the mom is concerned. ❤️

Wavered between like and so-so here. I loved the characters so much that I wanted much more of them, and was occasionally distracted by the choppy narrative. Extra points for the magical realism and sci fi elements seamlessly woven throughout.

The audiobook of THE BFG is a hit for Sunday drives with the family. My four-year-old has requested rewinding Sophie's kidnapping 3 times.

E.H.Kern I love David Walliams! 8y
ashlieelizabeth @E.H.Kern he does such a good job with this one! Getting a Jude Law vibe... 8y
E.H.Kern @ashlieelizabeth I'm really curious about his own books. They seem to be in the same vein as Dahl. 8y

Getting close to the end on this, alternately loving Sarah and Rose something fierce. I thought it would be funnier (or maybe my sense of humor isn't as subtle) and I wasn't expecting the stream-of-consciousness.
