“Water is the first medicine.“

The illustrations in this book were so beautiful and I think they even helped the words speak louder. Everything about this book is so powerful.

I love this book because it teaches the audience about real life. Not only does it talk about culture but about water. I think it is so important to teach kids about culture especially the indigenous people because we don't often know much about their lives.

“It was her first day and she was both nervous and excited.“

I relate to this book because as a child I always wanted to change my name to something different, like famous people I loved names. As I grew older I realized that the best name was my very own name because it was unique to me.

This book is a great book for elementary school students at the beginning of the school year or if you have a new student coming to your class because like the character in the book she feels like she has to change her name because she is worried the kid in her new class wont like her. She tries to pick an American name. She eventually learns that the best name is her name she was given.

This book could be fun if you live in an area where it rarely snows. This would especially be good if you have younger students.

This book captures a boys first snowfall. It has very neat illustrations and uses bright colors throughout the book. I think that the pictures look like paintings which makes this book look very special.

I love the message of this book because as someone who feels like judgment is one of the main issues in the world, this classic story helps allow people to understand what to look for in people.

This book has a good message of not judging a person by the way they look and accepting a person for who they are. I like this book because of the message and I believe it is a very important one because people are always judging others.

“Goodnight moon“

This is a simple book that has a basic story line. I think this is a good book for beginning readers. I did not read this story much in my lifetime but this book is a book I feel most people have read at least once.

In this book the author uses good repetition throughout the book. This book is a good book for younger readers because of this repetition and the pictures. The pictures don't change much throughout the book and the simplicity of them make it visually pleasing and helpful for the reader to read.

“They left the house at half past nine in two straight lines in rain or shine- the smallest one was Madeline.“

I love this book because when I was a child, I used to love the story. Just like the girls in the book I wanted to be just like Madeline. She was such a strong character and so adventurous.

Madeline is a cute book where when a little girl, Madeline, has to go to the hospital her friends show their support. They want to be just like Madeline. This story is an older story that is still read by many today because of its light hearted message.

“so I walked down the street to ask my neighbor for a cup of sugar, now this neighbor was a pig and he wasn't too bright either he had built his whole house out of straw can you believe it! I mean who in his right mind would build a house of straw!“

I love this book because it takes a different view on a classic tale. It takes the side of the “bad guy.“ I think this is a brilliant idea because everyone just assumes a person is bad.

This book is based off of the Three little pigs story but this time it is in the wolf perspective. The author makes the book a fun entertaining read. The wolf actually is just trying to be neighborly with his neighbors while having a cold.

I love this classic tale because its great for younger kids to understand that we should never trust strangers.

I love how the illustrator of this book uses dark colors in the pictures to give the effect of a dark forest of red riding hood being where she is not supposed to be and that there is going to be trouble.

“Ill Huff and Ill puff and Ill blow your house in.“

Although this book gives the wolf in this book a bad look, I think you could look at him as a good character as well. I think this is true because he keeps trying and not giving up. It is important for kids to know that it is good to never give up.

This book is a book that is about pigs that shares the message of patience and hard work as well as taking your time will pay off in the end. This is a good story that I think is good for younger kids.

I love how they tell the story in repetition it keeps kids engaged and on edge to hear what will happen next. This story reminds me of childhood because it is a classic book that I had to read when I was little.

This book about a little girl who breaks into a bear families house teaches the lesson of how your actions might affect others. This book is a good book for younger readers.

I love this book because it is very creative and there are so many activities that could go along with it. It is also very engaging as you can create actions and voices that go along with the story.

This story was always one of my favorites growing up because it let my imagination run wild. I used to think about what it was like for jack when he was up the beanstalk with the giants. I always wanted to see what a Giant looked like.

“Run Run Run as fast as you can, you can't catch me I'm the gingerbread man“

This is a book I feel like everyone has to read in their lifetime. It is an exciting book about how a gingerbread man runs away and they try to catch him.

This book is a classic story about a lady who bakes a cookie and it runs away. Younger kids tend to LOVE this book because it is a fun upbeat book.

“We can put them in a jar and save them.“

I think this is a great book to talk about saving memories. Growing up is difficult because at such a young age you can't always remember a lot from growing up so this fun story can help you with that.

In this story Freda the main character comes to a dilemma after blueberry picking with her grandma. She realizes that she can save things by memories. The author does a great job talking about how memories can be saved and this is a great book for upper elementary school students.

“It simply means treat otters the same way you'd like otters to treat you.“

I love this book because as a kid my dad used to read it to us all the time. He thought us that the golden rule was the most important rule.

This book is a fun book about the golden rule. The author uses a play on words and make the book about otters to replace the word others. I like how the book explains that if you want to be treated a certain way then you got to treat others the same.

“When Mama tucks me in at night, her eyes tell me I'm a miracle.“

Although I do not relate to this book. I have seen people get made fun of their cultures and effect them first hand. I do not think its ever okay to make fun of someone for their identity, but we need to be able to celebrate people.

This is a book about celebrating culture. When a little girl does not feel good about her aisian eyes she learns to appreciate them because she has “Eyes that kiss in the corner“

This book would be so fun for students because they need to learn why its not good to interrupt. The students can also relate to the book because a lot of kids love bedtime stories.

“It‘s bedtime for the little red chicken and Papa is going to read her a story. ‘You‘re not going to interrupt the story tonight, are you?‘ asks Papa. ‘Oh no, Papa. I‘ll be good,‘ says the little Red Chicken.”

This hilarious book is so fun for students of all ages. It is a funny book that you could even spice up with a honking chicken dog toy. The students think its hilarious but also learn the frustration of interrupting others.
