What a great book this is..This is the first book of Mike Gayle‘s that I‘ve read but it definitely won‘t be my last. I really cared about the characters and was in a real dilemma - I wanted to devour the story but also didn‘t want it to end 😬😆

LiteraryinPA The best kind of reader‘s dilemma! 5y

Jojo Moyes is one of my favourite authors so it was no surprise to me that I loved this book so much. It transported me to another place and time ⛰🐴📚 I loved the characters and really didn‘t want this book to end.

Die Trying | Lee Child

This is the second book of the Jack Reacher series, it‘s fast paced and full of action. Really enjoyed it, I thought it was a big improvement on the first.

Minervasbutler Agree. Much better than the first. 5y

Pieces of Her | Karin Slaughter

Karin Slaughter is one of my favourite authors but this book was so disappointing. The main character was weak and hard to like, storyline very farfetched. The chapters were long (is it just me who can‘t put a book down until I‘ve finished the chapter I‘m on 😆) and unfortunately reading this one felt like a chore.

Scochrane26 I like to finish a chapter, too, before putting it down. Or at least get to a part that divides the chapter. 5y

I enjoyed this book although it didn‘t totally live up to the hype. It‘s a real page turner..some twists you can see coming, others not so much. Not sure how it‘ll translate to the big screen.

Three Things about Elsie | Joanna Cannon (Psychiatrist)

Was really disappointed with this book. Had heard good things about it and I wanted to love it. The storyline was implausible and farfetched and unfortunately the third thing about Elsie was glaringly obvious 😔. I also found the ending really depressing!

TheNerdyProfessor The third thing was SO obvious. I forced myself to read this one a the way through but did not enjoy it. 6y

This was so bad, implausible plot, truly unlikeable characters. Avoid.

After reading so many good reviews of this book I was so disappointed. I was expecting so much more. Didn‘t feel the story went anywhere and don‘t get me started on the ending!

What Alice Forgot | Liane Moriarty

I really enjoyed this book, the concept was interesting and really makes you imagine yourself in the same situation. As someone who has been through multiple ivf cycles I found the infertility storyline well done too. Hard to put down.

Ava_Black Great book! Great author! 6y

I was really looking forward to this but it left me feeling disappointed. The premise was a good one but parts of the book were repetitive and the characters unlikeable. Meh.

Don't think this totally lived up to the hype for me. It was hard to like any of the characters and the ending is quite obvious. After saying all that I did find it compelling which is why I gave it a like!

Love Cormoran Strike, can't wait to read the next book. This wasn't quite as good as the Cuckoo Calling but well worth a read

Reagan Agreed! 6y
