a reading pathway for Salman Rushdie. My piece for Book Riot today. Link: http://bookriot.com/2016/11/23/reading-pathways-salman-rushdie/

balletbookworm 🌟🙌🏻 8y
balletbookworm For my first Rushdie, I went straight for the jugular and read The Satanic Verses and proceeded to get my mind blown 8y
deepali I LOVE SATANIC VERSES SO MUCH @balletbookworm it was my first Rushdie too, for the simple reason that it was banned in India and so I had to read it 8y
Kammbia1 @deepali I have been wanting to read Rushdie for years but could decide on which book of his to try first. This one was recommended to me recently and I like a good fable style of a novel. 7y

Pickpick

to no one's surprise, I did not follow my own weekend reading plans. Couldn't get into Name of the Wind, so I picked up Exit West. And oh my GOD, so good! 25% in it goes the magic realist path without warning, as we follow Saeed and Nadia in a world taken by storm by immigration.

MrBook Lol, nice review 😊. 8y

this is going to be my weekend read, since I've realized it's not meant to be read on the Metro to and from work (almost tripped and fell in my attempt to hold it in one hand)

It's been 2 days since I finished the book, but it's stayed with me-- bits and pieces of Maribeth resonated with me so strongly that I cannot let this story go.

MrBook Welcome to @Litsy ! I think you'll enjoy your stay 😎👍🏻. 8y
