I also got a delivery yesterday that satisfied my inner child. Amazon had these for a daily deal earlier this week. I now have a new Winnie the Pooh set. This was my favorite when I was little.
A great Saturday morning!
Graduating soon and of course I had to take my senior pictures with all of my favorite books! One of my aunts and biggest inspirations in life is obsessed with Winnie the Pooh, and this obsession resulted in her kindergarten students gifting teddy bears to her for the decades she taught.
This modern fantasy book is a book that helps explore a child's imagination and gives an exciting plot that's easy to follow. Its characters are inviting, relatable, and interesting to kids. Each one holds different personalities and lets us feel welcomed into the story. It relates back to the world of toys and dolls giving objects a personified outlook!
I always loved this story growing up and found it thrilling to imagine my toys coming to life. It was something I could relate to and hope to picture, while also made me realize all the adventures and things i could do when playing with my own toys. Helped my creativity soar and made my play time more exciting!
End of Day 2 of #24B4Monday
Read 8 hrs 12 Mins on Saturday, bringing me to a total of 12 hrs 35 mins
Finished 2 books : Winnie the Pooh and The Gallows Curse
Time for something to get me going, and a time for going down memory lane. So going to read Winnie the Pooh.
“This is Serious,” said Pooh. “I must have an Escape.”
So he took his largest pot of honey and escaped with it to a broad branch of his tree, well above the water, and then he climbed down again and escaped with another pot… and when the whole Escape was finished, there was Pooh sitting on his branch, dangling his legs, and there, beside him, were ten pots of #honey….
I've heard other littens say they listen to audiobooks when they can't read because of migraine so I thought I'd try it. I tend towards children's classics lately when I need comfort reading, but either I picked the wrong story or this trick won't work on me because I just couldn't focus and get into the book.
Book #51: Winnie-the-Pooh is one of those stories that had pervaded my childhood. From the movies to the cartoon series, I was (and still am) absolutely in love with Pooh Bear, despite never having read the books. And I am sure that the reason this is on the BBC 100 Greatest Books (which is basically a popularity vote on books) is because of the...
@Stacy_31 I don‘t think you know just how much this means to me. I have a huge love for Pooh, he means so much to me, and when I opened the box and saw a yellow bear with red shirt I cried a little. (It‘s been a rough few weeks for me) and then to see Piglet (my 2nd fav from Pooh Bear) as well, I just about lost it. I am so in love with them, they are the best ! Thank you so much! #makerswap
Have any of you read Pooh as an adult ?
Reading it for my June #CHILDRENSCLASSICREAD2019 was so much more than I anticipated. Reading a bit with my morning coffee has become so enjoyable that I am going to continue and read through all the Pooh I own! I will most likely buy the missing stories that aren‘t here at my house. I highly recommend it. It‘s like a hug everyday.
Instead of making an individual post for all of these, I‘ll just sum up: the majority of these were so great! I wasn‘t too sure about Curious George and Babar...I‘m not sure the originals (while totally beloved characters now) stand the test of time! 😊🤷🏻♀️ But Madeline, Mike Mulligan, Little Toot, and the tagged book (among the others): OUTSTANDING! 😊❤️📚 23-35/1,001 #1001ChildrensBooks
“‘Well,‘ said Pooh, ‘what I like best,‘ and then he had to stop and think. Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn't know what it was called.”

The real Pooh - he was lovingly watching over the children‘s department at the New York Public Library - not a bad place to spend your retirement.
@GypsyKat Thank you so very much for the books and especially the cute bookmark, pins and the gorgeous mug. You are so sweet and so generous. I can‘t tell you how much I love this. 😘😘😘
