Go as a River: A novel | Shelley Read
Pickpick

This might be the best novel I have read this year. So beautifully written, a novel that reads like a true classic. A beautiful story of a woman with unfortunate family circumstances, the brutality of prejudice and sacrifices of motherly love. I am sad it‘s over- I loved it!

A perfect title for this mystery- absolutely loved the ending. Easy summer read!

Quick blurb will review later- but this was a great read! I love a good ghost story and the setting was described so perfectly I could truly envision it in my mind!

I was torn on so-so or pick. I decided pick because I read it in 2 days and it was a page turner. The story was interesting, and I enjoyed the format of how he wrote different perspectives. But one reason I kept reading was I expected more, so in the end, it just felt rather anti-climactic to me, I don‘t know what I was expecting, but it was more. The ending was reminiscent of Where the Crawdads Sing, but not as satisfying.

The One | John Marrs
Mehso-so

This book had a compelling concept with many twists & turns. but I‘m not sure how to feel after finishing it. I thoroughly enjoyed the character development of each chapter- it wasn‘t always predictable which was exciting. But somehow it just didn‘t have a satisfying ending-felt the ending was rushed.I prefer to read a book that has a really satisfying ending where I can‘t stop thinking about it for a few days, this was not the case on The One.

This was an awesome read! So impressed with the research that had to be accomplished to pull this story together. Educational with plenty of plot twists and just a wonderful story! I would like to write more, but I don‘t want any spoilers for the reader!

As a spouse to someone with Parkinson‘s I could empathize and sympathize with so many elements to this book.

This was such an easy book to read! At times the content was disturbing, but like a bad train wreck I had to continue reading. I will be looking to read more from this author!

This book was ok. I didn‘t want to give up on it but I didn‘t really ever feel connected to any of the main characters.

Dear Edward: A Novel | Ann Napolitano

I enjoyed this novel! Interesting writing style the way chapters alternated character development from before vs after plane crash. I found myself thinking of Edward a lot while reading this.

I‘m so disappointed in this one! Was on a long wait list and pumped when I got to pick it up- but slowwwwww beginning and confusing character development. I gave it 100 pages and was still finding it a chore to read. Too many other great books to continue reading this one.

Easy read and I love a good mystery! But almost too many outrageous twists to make it believable- and i didn‘t like the ending at all- still a fun and short read!

Hhhjjjnsjehdhwjd What didn‘t you like about the ending?! I loved it. Please explain yourself! 🐈‍⬛ 3y

This is my favorite book in a long time! You must listen to McConaughey read, or actually TELL his stories- he‘s a masterful storyteller and I just loved it!

I listened to this on audible and so glad I did! I‘m usually a hard back book person and not a fan of audio books but the Italian and Sicilian spoken in this memoir is so beautiful you have to hear it and it‘s an absolutely beautiful story, particularly given our current political climate.

I just couldn‘t get into this book- god knows I tried- but over 200 pages in I decided the payoff just wasn‘t there.

This book was even better than I expected. Doyle weaved her philosophical reflections into a metaphorical masterpiece. Inspiring!
