I love a good mystery series. This only the second one in the series, but I'm hooked!

Kaye Would you recommend this series for someone who‘s not a huge mystery fan ? I guess I‘m wondering if there‘s more “ meat “ to the book than just a mystery like , say, Agatha Christie? Reason being, I heard them ask Hillary Clinton once what sort of books she liked and she named this author as one of her favorites. I saw the first in the series yesterday at the used bookstore and actually had it in my hand but put it back. (edited) 6y
kimgnix It does have more depth to the characters than a traditional cozy mystery. I think you should give it a try! Maybe check it out from the library so you don't have anything to lose. 6y
Kimzey @Kaye Hillary has good taste! I‘ve finished book ten in the series and am ready for more. 6y
Kimzey Glad you‘re enjoying the series. I find it‘s nice to read a Canadian mystery while sweltering in the Alabama heat! (edited) 6y

I loved these pavement signs at the Mississippi Book Festival in Jackson. This was my second time attending this event and it doesn't disappoint. #literarylawnparty #bookfestival

Having just recently been to Alaska for the first time, this book was especially interesting to me. This is one of those stories where the setting is a character in the book, and Alaska makes a good one.

Because this book didn't focus on Jamie and Claire as much, and it wasn't set in Scotland, I didn't enjoy this book as much as the rest of the series. But I still give it a big thumbs up!

One of the most powerful stories of faith I‘ve ever read. Highly recommend.

I only read this because it was recommended by Reese Witherspoon, and I had no idea what to expect. I really loved it!

KateFulfordAuthor Something else funny for your TBR? If you like rich characters and a precision engineered plot, may I be so bold as to recommend my debut? Check the link in my bio for a summary, reviews and more. /Kate 6y

This is the second Linda Howard book I've read, and I'm guessing most of her books follow the same formula. This one was unrealistic and I only recommend it if you're a romance fan.

I stayed with this one (audio), even though it was pretty uneven. It had some good parts, but just wasn't completely sewed together (pardon the pun).

Kaye Hello Kim. Welcome to Litsy. I would like to recommend A Prayer for Owen Meany. ❤️ 6y

I really liked Eleanor and Park, so I decided to try another book by this author. I tried to listen to the audio version, but I just found it so cheezy and unrealistic. I used to always finish a book no matter how much I liked or disliked it, but no more. Life's too short and there are too many books!

The Child in Time | Ian McEwan

Anybody else watch The Child in Time on PBS tonight? I thought it was very good, but I haven't read the Ian McEwan book. If you have, I'd love to know what you thought.

BookaholicNatty This sounds soooo good! I will have to check it out! Also Welcome to the #LitsyFamily. Glad to have you as a new book friend!! 6y

This was a fascinating book about the recovery of the Space Shuttle Columbia and its crew after the vehicle broke up over Texas. I had assumed everything burned up, but 40 percent of the shuttle was recovered and the remains of all crew members.

LisaJo @Kimzey I did attend the festival. I met @kimgnix one of the discussions. There were a lot of good panels and I was moving back-and-forth through all of them. Sorry that we couldn‘t hook up this year. But, next year. 6y
