pickMuch like the first book in the series, this book revels in its own silliness, but in a fun way that mostly took me along for the ride. Sure, there's angst, some general chaos, and, to be entirely honest, the ending could have been stronger, but overall, it was a rollicking good time.
so-so3✨ The second book made me laugh just as much as the first. Especially, when Kingsley the frog is in the scene. We get more backstory of the villain, Kingsley and others throughout. The villain seems to be losing or having trouble using his magic. Sage and the villain not admitting they like each other even though it‘s obvious was a little much, but overall I really enjoyed it.

pickI‘m really enjoying this series. This is a perfect continuation of the first book and I have already put a hold on The Accomplice to the Villain. It does come out until next month, but I‘m ready to read on. This one doesn‘t have such an erupt cliffhanger but there is still plenty of story left to complete storyline and quest. There were twist, love, magic and a whole bunch of character development of the side characters. I continue to recommend.

pickLoving the series so far. The first in this series was an #AuldLangSpine pick. I knew I was in trouble when I got to the end credits and heard “and was produced in the year 2024”. 🫢😅 I don‘t typically find series while they are ongoing and was already ready to add book 3 to my TBR for March but it won‘t be here till August 🥲🎻

The first book in this series took me a little while to get into, I actually thought about quitting it multiple times, but then by the end, really enjoyed it.
This one, however, I was in it and loving it from the very first page.
It did get a little bit repetitive, but I was always happy to pick it back up and really enjoyed every minute of reading it.
Definitely looking forward to book 3 this fall!

The Villain and Evie are still working to save the kingdom of Rennedawn. The Villain is becoming weaker so brave Evie steps up and learns new villainous skills e.g dagger throwing. Are they strong enough together to fight the dark powerful forces at play by the King. Full of angst, tension and romance. The pacing wasn‘t as fast as book one but you learn more about each character. I love how strong Evie is and how badass she could really be!
I loved the first book in the series. I really hope this one is just as good!
so-soRead up on another sequel in a series. Although I enjoyed the second book, I would‘ve liked more develop with the romance. As the story moves along, the romance seems to moving at a much slower pace.
so-soThis book was way too caught up on the will they, won‘t they, they can‘t and it really derailed the story and made it difficult to remember what the characters are trying to accomplish.
Sage decides to step into the role of Apprentice, discovers family she thought was lost, and her feelings for the Villain deepen.

This one may have been a bit better than the first one, but it still had incredibly cheesy moments that had me rolling my eyes. I still don't care for most of the characters, but now I feel like I have to find out what happens with them.
pickJust as full of adventure and snappy banter as the first book in this series, Apprentice is a wonderful continuation of this cozy fantasy series. I loved revisiting the characters we met in the first book while getting to know some of the newer ones. I particularly love the "found family" aspect, as it is one of my all-time favorite tropes, and this is a family like no other. The romance still sizzles between Evie and the Villain of course.

I‘m attending an author event today through Looker Books in Coatesville, PA! The first book was super fun and fantasy-y and I‘m excited to read the sequel, which is now signed!
We just moved to PA yesterday, but I had registered for this event before the move was scheduled. Unpacking is going well, the cats are settling into the apartment, and now I‘m one step closer to opening my bookstore in Media!

pickBanter for days! The first book sucked me in completely as Evie Sage becomes the assistant to an ”evil” villain. This book picks up right where the other left off as Evie is finding her own strength, and the villain is struggling with his new feeling. The supporting characters are just the chefs kiss on top. The characters show growth, which is essential in a second book. It‘s not wrapped up neatly at the end & I‘ll look forward to reading more.
Anyone else love it when your pet loves to snuggle your books?
Although he is about to get super grumpy at me, because I am about to take his pillow away to start reading. 🤣
