It is funny how answering a few questions can take the measure of a person pretty well 📚💕

Robothugs I think quotation marks and question mark probably describes most of us. 🤔 I wonder what the other ones are! 6y
MinDea @Robothugs my bf got Exclamation mark. "You're an extrovert who radiates positive energy. Your enthusiasm and charisma are contagious to everyone around you. You never miss a social gathering or a chance to embark on a new adventure. Exclamation marks will absolutely love Once and for All by Sarah Dessen!" 6y
Robothugs Exclamation marks sound exciting ...and totally not us! 😂 6y

BarbaraBB I did and there are many books I like better, so maybe I am not strictly a comma 😂 6y

Day 23 #AndItsAugust #punctuation These are the two books I own that are about or feature the rules of punctuation. Both are e-books. The book tagged below is a NetGalley #ARC from a while back and is a fun read. 🍦📚👍 LL Cool J & The Electric Company are also good for learning punctuation: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jhJJMn4yTho 😆

BethFishReads Shoot. I shoulda participated today I have a shelf-full!!! 7y

Apparently it is no longer necessary to put two spaces behind a full stop. In fact, some employers use that to screen employees. I was reading this article today and this was news to me. I had a professor who insisted that we type our papers with two spaces and it stuck with me. Now I'm wondering how wrong I've been all these years. Is this true?

syasutake Yes, I had to quit the two-space habit, too. But you haven't been wrong all these years. The convention changed at some point. (edited) 7y
PirateJenny Yes it has certainly changed. It largely has to do with computers I think. I know in publishing it has to do with how much of the editing process has become electronic and rypesetting sets everything exactly--including extra spaces. 7y
JulieAnn @syasutake @PirateJenny Thank you! I honestly had no idea. I'm going to have to go through my CV and cover letters and fix them. Good thing I read that article. 😃 7y

minkyb I am an antique! I need a refresher as well. 7y
rabbitprincess Yes, two spaces is a holdover from typewriter days. One space only now! 😊 #editorinthehouse 😉 7y
JulieAnn @rabbitprincess Good to know! Wish I'd known that sooner. Lol 7y
Bluebird Wow! This is news to me too. Good to know, but It will be hard to break the two space habit. I already had to go back and delete a space for this post. 😊 7y
JulieAnn @Bluebird Definitely hard! I had to do the same thing. Lol 7y
