In the spring of 1998, Koichi Sakakibara transfers to Yomiyama North Middle School. In class, he develops a sense of unease as he notices that the people around him act like they're walking on eggshells, and students and teachers alike seem frightened. As a chain of horrific deaths begin to unfold around him, he comes to discover that he has been placed in the cursed Class 3 in which the student body head count is always one more than expected. Class 3 is haunted by a vengeful spirit responsible for gruesome deaths in an effort to satisfy its spite. To stop the vicious cycle gripping his new school, Koichi decides to get to the bottom of the curse, but is he prepared for the horror that lies ahead...?

What can I say? I read the manga series a year ago and decided to read the light novel version. I have to say I really am having some strong favoritism over here to the light novel side; maybe since it's my first light novel I'm being a bit excitable 😁. 4/5🌟

Gonna share some Halloween books over the next couple days.

This one is a Japanese psychological horror novel that is one of the finest novels I‘ve ever read. It‘s atmospheric, gradually tense as all hell, & utilises the urban legend trope really well.

JacintaMCarter I just finished watching this series on Hulu. It was so good! I wish I'd known it was a comic, and I would've read it first. 8y

Malisa @BekahB I think it would be better to read the novel first since it's the original one, then the manga, then if you want to you can watch the anime. I did it backwards from that order lol they all have a slightly different story though in terms of who dies and lives and stuff like that. 8y
