After a struggle, I‘m DNFing this one at p73. It‘s too technical for me. A scholarly expert on the subject of gender identity I am not. I‘m tired of looking up words and trying to figure out what Butler is going for.

This one is HAAAAAARD, y‘all! I feel like I‘m looking up every other word in the dictionary, it‘s taking me around an hour to read 10 pages. Very little progress, getting a bit frustrated. 😫
Call me an idiot.
I got this lovely black cat a week ago. My daughter named it Shadow. Ghost and Shadow are getting along relatively well, for it being only a week.
I asked the woman I got the cat from twice, at least, whether it's a 'she' - couldn't check for all the hissing and clawing - the woman insisted it was a she.
Well, I had a sneaking suspicion it's a 'he'. Today, for the first time, Shadow let me have a real look and yep, it's a boy!
Super hard read, but I mostly agree with what Butler writes here. It is an interesting and mind-opening analysis of how gender is a system that reproduces unfairness and ridiculous divisions between human beings.

Anyone around Duke want to come to this panel? I think it will be a lively and interesting discussion and it would be great to have Litsy-ers there! Reception follows
