Gentle Rogue
Gentle Rogue | Johanna Lindsey
9 posts | 39 read | 9 to read
Heartsick and desperate to return home to America, Georgina Anderson boards the Maiden Anne disguised as a cabin boy, never dreaming she'll be forced into intimate servitude at the whim of the ship's irrepressible captain, James Mallory. The black sheep of a proud and tempestuous family, the handsome ex-pirate once swore no woman alive could entice him into matrimony. But on the high seas his resolve will be weakened by an unrestrained passion and by the high-spirited beauty whose love of freedom and adventure rivals his own.

Listen, I don't know if all the descriptions of the lead dressed like a man were going to go like the first one, but my nonbinary ass really disliked that! So much so that I am not willing to find out!

Decided a reread of my favorite Joanna Lindsey book was needed after a tough week! I still absolutely love James and George. One of my favorite couples ever. I read this book for the first time over 15 years ago and I still love it.

KarynGood Same! Love the Malory clan! 5y
MinetteLauren I used to love her books! Haven‘t read one in ages. 5y
AlaMich Is that a Fabio cover?!? 😆 5y
Ddzmini The brick wall ... love Johanna Lindsey books in general... but the Malory series of books are always on my tbr... even though I‘ve read them from the first to the last(?) several times 🙌🏽🥰📚📚📚📖 5y
Lauren_reading @AlaMich Yup - a classic Fabio cover 😂 5y

This was such a fun & sexy historical romance. I know it's dated, but it still entertains. A woman poses as a cabin boy on a ship & unbeknownst to her the womanizing captain is on to her secret and slyly seduces her.

AuthorEliseManion This is my favorite Malory tale. James is so naughty! 7y
dreadamara Mine too. 2nd favorite is the one with Warren Anderson and Amy Malory. 7y
dreadamara @AuthorEliseManion and I find it hilarious that all the men on the covers are essentially Fabio with different hair color lmao 7y
AuthorEliseManion @dreadamara Ha! My covers are newer 😂 So no Fabio 💕 7y

In theory I‘d like to follow this but to be honest, people are jerks and being gentle with them probably isn‘t going to change that so...

1. Youngest, only girl.
2. I thought I wanted a younger sibling for years, but now I'm soooooo glad that I got to remain the youngest.
3. 3 older brothers.
4. This is silly, but I love the Malory and Anderson families in the Johanna Lindsey romance books. Especially the Anderson's in Gentle Rogue because how protective they were of their sis.
5. Hope to!
