Bohemian Paris
Bohemian Paris: Picasso, Modigliani, Matisse, and the Birth of Modern Art | Dan Franck
7 posts | 3 read | 20 to read
A legendary capital of the arts, Paris hosted some of the most legendary developments in world culture -- particularly at the beginning of the twentieth century, with the flowering of fauvism, cubism, dadaism, and surrealism. In Bohemian Paris, Dan Franck leads us on a vivid and magical tour of the Paris of 1900-1930, a hotbed of artistic creation where we encounter Apollinaire, Modigliani, Cocteau, Matisse, Picasso, Hemingway, and Fitzgerald, working, loving, and struggling to stay afloat. 16 pages of black-and-white illustrations are featured.

I think I bought this book after I watched the Picasso TV series, starring Antonio Banderas (which was excellent!). #TBR #lavieboheme #musicalnewyear

Laura317 @DivineDiana What is this Picasso series, please? Is it on Netflix or something? 6y

So, I‘m currently reading a book about the life of Picasso and this book is mentioned. Just like that, I feel a strong urge to possess this new book as well! #thepowerofsuggestion #ineedalockonmyamazonaccount #bookmail

This is my "big, slow"read for the coming month. Part of my #LitsyAtoZ challenge and to take a break from Roman history.

A few of the books for the challenge. I either have them, get them for the library or from Project Guterberg. No new acquisitions. #litsyatoz

MrsV I chose mine that way too. That way I know I will at least read 26 books I already have. With the only exception of the book for X. I'm doing that with all of my challenges to this year. My only new purchases are the ones I've already preordered. (I hope!) 8y

Anna Laura: "The emotion a city can transmit is amazing. I went to Paris and fell in love. New York is that way too. This book is about Paris in the 20s and all the poets, painters and writers who lived in Paris at the time - like Modigliani, Hemingway and Picasso."
