About Me (for #AuldLangSpine):

1. I‘m Alyisha, creator & host of #AuldLangSpine. It‘s hard to believe I‘ve been playing matchmaker for 6 years!

2. I live in the Ocean State with my husband & our pet house rabbit, Moxie Crimefighter.

3. I love the beach. Being near (or in) water puts me immediately at ease.

4. I work as a Children‘s Librarian in an old 1800‘s building with actual gargoyles.

monalyisha 5. I‘m a newly-minted Life-Cycle Celebrant, which means I‘m certified to create personalized ceremonies and rituals for life‘s milestone events (including but not limited to weddings). For a while, I wanted to be a Religion teacher or go to divinity school; I think this is the closest I‘m going to get. 😈 11mo

monalyisha 6. I take adult tap dancing classes. It‘s me and a bunch of retired teachers and I love it.

7. I‘m an extroverted introvert working in public service, which means my social battery is often drained. 11mo

monalyisha 8. My favorite holidays are Easter and Halloween. My favorite colors are blue & green. My favorite genres are literary fiction, speculative fiction, memoirs, & nature writing. My favorite foods are palak paneer & hermit cookies. I‘m a coffee aficionado. 11mo

monalyisha 9. My star sign is Capricorn, which means I‘m super loyal. I pick something I like and I stick with it. My favorite band will probably always be Wilco. And my favorite tv show will probably always be Buffy. 11mo

monalyisha 10. I have a super-strong stomach. I could eat 5 chili dogs and then go on back-to-back upside-down, loop-de-loop rollercoasters, no problem. I can also sleep anytime, anywhere. I‘d pick more magical & impressive-sounding super powers if I could…but I‘m not saying I‘m not grateful for those I‘ve been gifted. 😅 11mo

monalyisha @AmyG Agreed! I‘ve seen them a handful of times. My favorite was at the Shelburne Museum in Vermont. It was an outdoor show, & they played California Stars as the sun set and the moon came up over the mountains. Absolutely perfect. 🌕 11mo

monalyisha @Chelsea.Poole Hermits are the best! Chewy, and soft, and spicy — in the best way. People can be so weird about raisins, so they‘ll never reach the heights of chocolate chip cookie fame. Chelsea.Poole @monalyisha funny you should ask. It‘s today! I‘ve come to appreciate having my birthday on the day after Christmas. It‘s usually a quiet morning at home and a game night with friends and family. That‘s the plan this year at least! 😊 11mo

OrangeMooseReads @Jee_HookedOnBookz my son got a stuffed orange moose from Ikea when he was little and one night I was bored so I put my glasses on the moose and propped a book in his hands and took a picture. Later on I was trying to come up with a tumblr name and remembered the picture so Orange Moose Reads was born 😄 6y

1. Hot chocolate or tea
2. Fuzzy socks
3. Anything citrus and bright (nothing too sweet)
4. Costco has these Belgian chocolate crepes that are just ridiculous and only available during holiday season. I️ literally stock up and indulge like it‘s the end of the world. 🤤😂 But, kit Kats and Twix are my jam as well.

2) Both! I keep the house chilly to afford books, so layers are necessary 😂
3) I don't do candles, but I love essential oils for my diffuser!
