This is a more bitter than sweet symphony, but it's a narrative poem based on the true story of biracial Violinist, George Bridgetower. Bridgetower studied with and inspired Beethoven, who dedicated his famous Sonata No. 9 in A Major, Op. 47 to him. Instead of immortality by association with the work, a falling out changes everything for Bridgetower. #lyricalapril #bittersweetsymphony

I watched Immortal Beloved last night for the first time and it inspired my next book choice! I bought this after listening to Rita Dove's Poetry Society Annual Lecture just over a year ago. Looking forward to starting it today or tomorrow.
