pickI picked this because I'm trying to read more books written by NZers and also because Iris Wilkinson's life fascinates me - it is so tragic. This novel is close to her life and the narrative is overwhelmed at times by dream and memory and poetry. But that's why it's so special. She writes so beautifully, so originally. Hugely descriptive and thoughtful - a lot about the tragedy of being a woman and not fitting the mold of the time.
#bookmail. This has been sitting in the office for a few days. Luckily I stopped by for a biscuit and a coffee. And suprise, surprise it was given to me. So now I have another lovely #Persephonebooks in my collection.
This is my #TBRTuesday for the week. I love the Persephone editions. I usually order about four a year direct from the shop even though I know that they can be purchased cheaper elsewhere. The Godwits Fly will be one of my next purchases. I just need to figure out what the other one will be. What tittles has everyone else enjoyed from Persephone? #PersephoneBooks .
