I‘m supposed to be presenting to orientation students for the first time in a few minutes. Feeling a bit anxious. Except no one is here. Maybe I‘m in the wrong place, lol.

Trashcanman Just turn on the fire alarm if all else fails. 6y
MelissaSue81 Well it was either cancelled or someone gave me bad info cuz no one came. 6y

Agreed to speak at a convention without checking who else was speaking. Probably shouldn't have done that. 😬 (omg)

I am irrationally terrified of public speaking. 🙅🏼#infinitefear #infinitejestbuddyread #week5

MyNamesParadise Most people are. However, my senior year of college I forced myself to take a public speaking course (in a class with all freshman) and it actually helped me a lot!! 7y
Megabooks I'm a weirdo. I love it! 7y
britt_brooke @Ebooksandcooks I really wish that I did! 7y

Branwen I'm actually taking a public speaking class now (it's totally a required class, I'm pretty sure I would never have taken it on my own!) And while I hate going every week, I do have to admit that each time I give a speech it gets a tiny bit easier! 7y
britt_brooke @MyNamesParadise I had to take a public speaking class my freshman year of college and, unfortunately, I hated every minute. 😱 It stresses me out just thinking about it. 7y
britt_brooke @Branwen I was required to take public speaking my freshman year of college. It caused me significantly more anguish than my difficult classes. I'm glad it's getting easier for you! Don't be like me! 😁 7y
vivastory I'm a little less frightened of it now, but I took public speaking in college & had to deliver multiple speeches. I still shudder thinking about it now, traumatizing. 7y
MyNamesParadise @britt_brooke communications majors at my school HAD to take it in their freshman year. But as a last semester senior I needed an elective class to fill up credits & I was like "well I suck at public speaking, I guess I can take a class on it". However I don't have to do it as part of my job so I haven't dealt with it recently. 7y
slhbooks I had to take public speaking too. I put it off until the last trimester of my senior year. I would rather have taken more calculus or physics classes. 7y
LeahBergen Oh, this is totally my number one irrational fear, too. I get so much anxiety even thinking about it right now! 😬 7y
Cinfhen Same, terrifying😬 7y
Texreader I ❤️ public speaking! But was terrified at first. I highly recommend Toastmasters (Litsy-like environment if you find the right club for you) which dispelled my fears. I speak often now even on a national scale. Wishing you the best. 7y
Mimi28 I was also FORCED to take a public speaking class. I was like- my major is mostly computer related, what?! I am extremely shy and my voice is really soft- it was a nightmare but I passed somehow, lol. Good luck ❤❤❤❤ 7y
BibliophileMomma Me too! 7y
tpixie @LeahBergen public speaking is my fear too. I panic less now over the years, but will never be an effective entertaining speaker. Luckily I don't have to lecture any more!! (edited) 7y
