This book is great for Halloween, and feels like a poem with excellent flow almost songlike, TS's include RA, S, RT, GR, and CR. I would read this to younger children with it being read nice and slow. With excellent pictures, bringing the scarecrow to life just like in the story. This book is very fun for children, with normally haunting things in Halloween being fun while they are enjoying their one night of the year.

JordanL ESOL strategy 14 would work well, as I feel that this story can be read slower to a younger class, which can be beneficial for a younger ESOL or beginning proficiency student. UDL 7.2 would be perfect especially if this was read on Halloween, it would heighten the relevance, and the relevance of the 2nd lesson plan provided. #UCFLAE3414SP18 7y

Oh my goodness. I love this book. It was not what I was expecting. In the night, the scarecrow comes alive and sheds his skin to play with the ghosts, goblins, and ghoulies that arrive in the night. It rhymes, it sings-song, and the illustrations are magical. A great book for any time of the year.
