Last month's pick allowed me to appreciate this reference in a Lorrie Moore story I'm reading. Good literary timing is always nice! 🙂

After realizing two of my current reads feature birds on the cover, I decided to do a little bookshelf birding. A fun activity I'd recommend to other bird and book lovers when it's a little chilly for the outdoor variety. #bookshelfbirding #birdsoflitsy #birds

I loved these stories when they came out, but my much younger literati brother says Moore is now considered establishment and somewhat retrograde, and that I should move on, which only makes me want to reread her more.

I keep hearing about Lorri Moore but I have never read her, so here it goes....on audio. 🍂

I greatly enjoyed this collection of short stories! They are all so eloquently written. Each story kept me interested. There was also much emotional depth to each story, which I love having in any piece of literature. I look forward to reading more by Lorrie Moore!

I‘m more of a chunkster person - even more so when I‘m finding concentration difficult. But if you‘re not - the NY Times has a great list of books you can read in a day - to get your reading groove back! 👍🏼

Engaging collection of short stories. Several made me laugh out loud. Some biting and dark scenes in the later stories. My favorite was "Agnes of Iowa". Read this 300 page book in a couple of sittings and was pleased I took a chance on this collection- I put her book #Bark on my tbr list.

"I feel like I've got five years to live," she told people, "so I'm moving back to Iowa so that it'll feel like fifty."
