Bailedbailed

Went in to this book with an open mind and really gave it a try, but after reading 96 pages of constant moaning, backhanded comments and the author misconstruing everything that is said to him passing it off as 'wittyness', I can't possibly continue.

It can be hard for foreigners to fully integrate in Japan I don't need to read a whole book about it.

More fascinating travel stories and less moaning would've been ideal as the concept is great.

Started this book last night and I'm already hooked. An interesting concept trying to travel across a decidedly reserved country by means of hitchhiking. Lots of 'witty' observations throughout. Looking forward to continuing.

First book of the year.
My sister also followed some of the cherry blossoms up part of Japan 🌸

Mehso-so

Finished my lunch book. This one is written well before mobile phones and it seems like an almost historical work. The author decides to follow the cherry blossom blooms by hitchhiking the length of Japan. Some funny stories but he sometimes comes across as an “ugly” Canadian. It‘s okay but I would not recommend it.

Working on my winter blues by going to the Sapporo Snow Festival and doing some other Hokkaido winter activities. I feel like a week off work and plenty of hotel room reading is exactly what I was in need of.

Simona I need this too! 7y

So for day 2 #planestrainsandautomobiles I had a lot to choose from because I love literary travel books. These are 2 of my favorites. #photoadaynov16 @RealLifeReading

Some books that are #setinasia that I found on my shelves. The picture is the sign for the ramen restaurant my friends and I went to every Monday night when we lived in Japan. The owners became surrogate parents for us and that picture always makes me smile. I hope I can go visit them soon. #septphotochallenge #somethingforsept
