#12booksof2021 #September @Andrew65
Bit late in the day as I was finishing my 1st bk of 22 then watched the Harry Potter programme, can it really be 20 years ago that I went to cinema with a 6 yr old and was reading philosopher's stone to her.
Anyway Sept + my 5* was Passing but here is a shout out for an Argentinian crime/psychological story which I really enjoyed.

Andrew65 Looks good, stacked. Where did those twenty years go. 3y

Pickpick

Picked this Argentinian novel for the thread and its an interesting read. Part crime/psychological thriller an architect is in a mid life crisis but also preoccupied with event 3 yrs earlier when a resident in a flat alleges that building work has created a massive crack in his wall. There's something distinct abt the S Am style that is distinct but compelling, enjyd it.

This was my #libraryloot this week but one of the books is sadly unreadable. I had grabbed it off the shelves, having spotted it on a previous visit. It was only when I returned home that I discovered the first few pages were missing.
I seldom see missing pages in adult library books, more in kids‘ books, so to me it was like a violent act had just been committed and so I bowed my head and had a moment of silence for my mutilated friend

I am reading this for The Read Harder challenge-a book set in Central or South America or written by a Central or South American author, this satisfies the requirement both ways. So far, so good! 😊

A good short read with a surprise ending set in Buenos Aires. It helped me boost my count of books in translation and books by South American authors. If you have an interest in architecture, this is a book for you.
