Feeling loved today ! Mr K couldn‘t take me out for lunch - but he did grind his own meat, make his own patties, recreate the Shack sauce and give me an at home dining experience. I felt treated ❤️

I love hamburgers! This is a history of the restaurant chain. I've been to the one in Downtown Chicago a few times. The book is interesting and can't wait to try a couple of the recipes especially the one for their sauce.
Beautiful light this evening while eating our homemade SHAKE SHACK BURGERS 🍔! Followed the recipe for the shack stack, which meant that we also had hot, gooey, cheese-stuffed portobellos in there too. Other toppings were bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, and of course, American cheese (the best cheese for a burger hands down). Sides were tots, heirloom tomatoes with burrata, and Smitten Kitchen kale salad.
What's your burger cheese of choice???
The Washington Post asked the Shake Shack chefs for a burger recipe, and they came up with the Emilia: cold ground beef mixed with a mountain of Parmesan, balsamic mayo, and a salsa verde made from capers, anchovies, olive oil, salt and pepper. Swoony swoon swoon.
SHAKE SHACK! This is, by far, my favorite fast-casual burger place ever. I am so sad it doesn't exist anywhere close to me (YET 🤞🏻!). It's just a wonderful burger, especially with that cheesy stuffed mushroom 🍔🍔🍔🍔😍.
We are headed to New York next week for some eating and exploring and fun and this will be one of our first stops! Any other recommendations? We have been many times, but I would love any bookish or foodish ideas!!
