Always love catching up with Roy Grace, another excellent book in the series 👍🏻

Getting myself reacquainted with one of my favourite British Fictional Detectives DSI Roy Grace ahead of the new Crime Drama Grace coming to ITV this March. Season 1 is apparently the first two novels Dead Simple & Looking Good Dead. Not sure which actor I think should play Roy but let's hope John Simm can bring him to life. 🤞🏻
I always enjoy the Roy Grace series of books. This one was good but became a bit repetitive at times. The plot rattles along at the same frenetic pace as these books always do. I guessed the killer about 2/3 in but it didn't detract from my enjoyment. I like the sub plots about his private life which would be less detailed in other crime series, Susan Hill is also good at this with her Simon Serrailer novels. Bring on the next one!
Roy Grace, one of my favourite #🇬🇧 detectives. A simply great series! You like police procedurals, then you need to read these!
And again Peter James obviously outsmarts me! I thought I had this whodunnit figured out but there are so many possible scenarios... And I'm never right!😂👏 SO MANY STORYLINES are left open, I'm so frustrated that I have to wait till next year to see what happens!
4 brilliant ⭐s for my favorite detective ❤
Sorry for the messy, blurry picture. It's reading-on-the-train time 😍👏💜
Bae waiting for me in bed like 😍😂
This still has to be one of my favourite series. I love the way you feel part of the investigation, more so than in a lot of Detective books where things are kept back from you, and particularly enjoy the regular team meetings where we get to hear people's thoughts. It is good to hear things occasionally from the killer's or victims perspective. Peter James hasn't lost it as didn't want to put this one down. Read this series!
Guy Batchelor continued his assessment of the crime scene, reminded all the time of Roy Grace‘s words.
Assume nothing. Believe no one. Check everything.
Clear the ground under your feet.
Every contact leaves a trace.
Think the unthinkable.
Started on the plane - finished on the way back!
Instead of the book you have the start of the DM gig 💗
Book was a good, solid addition to the series. Some good background material filled in. An unexpected ( and not fully explained) twist in the story - maybe in the next one. If you like the series you'll like this one.

Another great detective series 😀
'One mans darkness was another mans daylight' -Peter James, need you dead.
I was lucky enough to be sent a copy of this book by the author for review (which you can see on Amazon) and couldn't resist a good 'murdered' pic.
Yes I often cover myself in jam in the name of a good bookstagram 😋
I've actually just finished Need You Dead by the lovely @peterjamesuk and it was fantastic.
Peter knows how to spin a dark tale and keep you flipping pages with each twist and turn. Some great character development too for fans who have followed this series so far. You can see my review on Amazon for my full thoughts and summary, but to boil it down 5/5 stars and after that ending am patiently awaiting the next book.
Love the Roy Grace series and really enjoyed this. Thought I'd worked out whodunnit but of course I was wrong. Recommended!
