Couldn't resist these literary classics.
Truly awful but absolutely loved em. I laughed alot. Nothing like a xmas gay rom com on a dark winter's day.

Reading this again as it totally fried my brain on initial reading. Think I'm concentrating more as I have nothing else to do but sit in the sunshine for a week.

CarolynM Have you read the tagged book? What did you think? 3w
MrT I really struggled with it. Given the subject matter I didnt find it all that interesting. Cant even remember most of it now and I only read it 2 weeks ago. 3w

You know exactly what you're getting. Does what is says on the tin

Great plot but boy did it need to be edited more. 200 pages less would have made it a almost a Pick

Absolutely terrifying knowing how close we came to a man made nuclear disaster which would having lasting effects for hundreds of years. Chilling to read but unputdownable.

I think the quote is 'just because we could, doesn't mean we should'

MrT Is this strange that I don't like the 'greatest' on the cover, should be 'worst' ,makes it sound like a good thing. 4mo
JanuarieTimewalker13 Yes, strange...although people do say “the greatest tragedy”. I want to read this one. I remember when that happened. I don‘t remember much follow-up news, however. Sort of like Fukushima. I‘d like more follow up on that too. 2w

Book 11 in the Roy Grace series. Huge fan of Brit Crime Fiction.Devoured this in less than 2 days. Plot is a little far fetched, the police procedures are meticulously written and love Roy's domestic life/dramas and the Brighton locales are mostly real. The Sandy story (which some loath) I have always liked and it seems to be nearing its conclusion but you do need to read from Book 1.
Great addition. I recommend you try this series!

I really tried to like this (yet another) YA teen thriller.

I like d the plot, but not the execution of it, just seemed over complicated for the sake of it. Characterizations were lacking. It did get better towards the end but not by much.

The UK cover has the ' if you liked One of Us is Lying' which in my opinion isa much better book that this.

Another holiday read to leave at the hotel.

Was ok for a debut YA teen thriller. Writing style a little basic and characterizations were a little sparse. Didn't really have any empathy or sympathy for Delia because of that.

As for the twist that comes quite early in the book, I for one didn't see that coming, but the rest were a bit blah and predictable.

Read in two days whilst sitting in the sun. I will be leaving it at the hotel.

More 2019 reading.

As a gay man I thought that I knew and understood about trans/gender non conforming issues. I didn't.

Read this. It's so much more than choosing to be 'a man' or 'a woman', or matching your outside with your inside.

I admit I was more drawn to the glorious blue coloured bookshop cover than the story itself..however it was a charming little holiday read. And no, The Cotswolds is not really that idyllic

Do love a book about books though!

MrBook I‘ve had my eye on this one. Do you live near where the book is set?! 6mo
MrT I'm in Cardiff, South Wales about an hours drive from the Cotswold, it's classed as an area of natural outstanding beauty. 6mo

Really enjoying this take on the classic Agatha Christie Murder Mystery.

A bit confusing at first, shaping up to quite fun.

MrT Cheers Nute 😆 I chose not to have children. That's £76k average spend per child from 0-18 in the UK that I had/have extra to spend on books. 5mo
