This edition is beautiful, and includes a lot of interesting materials and commentary - but I cannot recommend the story itself. I was familiar with Peter Pan, but had never read the actual story. In anticipation of reading Lost Boy, I decided to read it and was so disappointed. Even accounting for the time in which it was written, the blatant sexism and racism is off-putting.

If you like the story of Peter Pan, this edition rocks as if has all sorts of great additional material. Unfortunately, I've decided that the story of Peter Pan just isn't my cup of tea at all.

EchoLogical And that's okay! 😉 I feel the same way about Alice in Wonderland. I've read and hated so many retellings that I've come to the conclusion that I don't like the original. Lol 7y

Peter Pan is one of my favorite literary characters, and the Annotated Peter Pan contains a lot of new-to-me info. Does anyone else love learning new things about your favorites, or do you prefer to keep extra knowledge to a minimum?
