The Dog Master
The Dog Master: A Novel of the First Dog | W. Bruce Cameron
Set against the most dramatic time in our species' history, The Dog Master tells the story of one tribe's struggle for survival and one extraordinary man's bond with a wolf-a friendship that changed mankind forever Thirty thousand years ago, ice was storming the planet. Among the species forced out of the trees and onto the steppes by the advancing cold was modern man, who was both predator and prey. No stranger to the experiences that make us human-a mother's love and a father's betrayal, tribal war and increasing famine, political intrigue and forbidden love, joy and hope and devastating loss-our ancestors competed for scant resources in a brutal landscape. Mankind stood on the cold brink of extinction...but they had a unique advantage over other species, a new technology-domesticated wolves. Only a set of extraordinary circumstances could have transformed one of these fierce creatures into a hunting companion, a bodyguard, a solider, and a friend. The Dog Master by W. Bruce Cameron is an evocative glimpse of prehistory, an emotional coming of age saga, a thrilling tale of survival against all odds, and the exciting, imaginative story of the first dog.

Hey all! Haven't been on here in awhile, sadly. My current reads. And yes, I know I am reading Christmas books like a month after Christmas lol. Now finally getting around to reading these. I love all the other dog books I have read by this author so far, so I am sure I will love these too! Hope you all are doing well📚🐶😊☺️!

DaveGreen7777 Welcome back! 😀📚 3y

1. Tagged. People kept raving about this author and I‘m a sucker for anything prehistory. It was AWFUL! Not so much about the first dog but more a tribal Soap Opera. I‘ve never been so angry at a book or an author before! The author gave HIMSELF a 5 ⭐️ review on Goodreads! WHO DOES THAT?!? 🤦‍♀️
2. I‘ve always wanted to read in a huge library like the one from Beauty and the Beast. Night time with candles and a crackling fire. ⬇️

MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm Either a thunderstorm or snowstorm raging outside. It wouldn‘t matter what I was reading. 😅
3. Chocolate!! ALL the chocolate! 🤤

emilyrose_x I haven't read the tagged book, however I have read A Dogs Purpose by the same author and remember enjoying it! However I definitely agree with you on the whole 5🌟 review of your own book thing 😂 3y
MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm @emilyrosex Lol, yes, I was going to try and give another of his books a try (I try very hard not to judge an author by only one book), but then I saw his review. 😖 Now unfortunately I cringe anytime I see his name on a book and can‘t bring myself to pick another one up. 😅 3y
Eggs Love your book-location ❣️❣️ Thanks for playing 🧡🙏🏻📚🍫 3y

Lovers of stories like White Fang or unique historical fiction would find unrelenting joy in this book. There‘s even a small dose of archeological science tossed in. Half way through this and already wishing there was a Part 2!

Nope! I did not love this book. I had such a hard time getting into it. It was alright, but it just wasn't for me.

I would recommend this book for huge W. Bruce Cameron fans.

📚🍁Happy Reading!🍁📚

One of the few multiple perspective books in which every perspective is equally captivating! My dad and sister recommended this to me and I was not disappointed. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Fictionalized prehistory about the domestication of wolves?? Yes, please! Not sure the wolves would have thought processes as complicated as what's written, but I understand the purpose of it for the novel
