A 6th grader, Tom, befriends a new student, Jessica, who is a burn victim. Other classmates shun her bc it‘s disturbing. When Jessica moves away, Tom is filled with conflicting emotions that he may not fully comprehend until he‘s older. So it has that sort of existential feel to it, which is reminiscent of times and ages when people pass in and out of our lives for various reasons. And you don‘t always have the privilege of deep understanding…

I only got 3 of my 5 books completed for this week's #MarchUnshelfing
I had a bunch of books that were on waitlist become available so I read those since they have a shorter check out period. I will continue to read unshelfing books in between for this month.

Finished the first of give books for this weeks #marchunshelfing #readathon Firegirl was ok. It's a quick read about a middle school boy who befriends a burn victim. It deals with bullying, narcissism and lying and while I feel like the book had a great story idea, it could have done so much more. The main character even says he wishes he could say he learned more from his friendship.

Update. Took tomorrow off to wait for Insurance to come over and determine if I need to file a claim or if it‘s under my deductible.

Currently not working: Fridge (beautiful black stainless less than a year old), lights in the living room, Joshes Ham Radio set up. We need to check basement TV and Xbox and Joshes fancy coffee maker.

After the night we had, decided to go to Pies the limit. At least I can start this book.

I can‘t read because I have no power. Apparently on of the transformers blew and literally burnt down the electric poll. They had to flag me around so I could even get in the house. There are two power complies here and they said it would be 30 minutes. They lied. The candles will be coming out soon. 💥 🔥

Short, cute, and a good over-all younger ages book. With a very good moral ending

One of our district‘s Battle of the Books selections for grade 6. The characters were pretty obnoxious without diving deep enough so it was hard to connect with them. You know there‘s more to each person but you just get a surface view. Quick read.
